But, I don't understand, why is this nessessary? I was told Islam was a religion of peace. Wouldn't that mean that "Radical Islamists" were really really peaceful??

And all the while, the PRC, Pakistan, Myanmar and Laos continue in their embrace, building up arms, building roads between themselves, building naval bases for joint forces on both the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, backed up by the combined nuclear forces of Pakistan and the PRC, and, ultimately, in a pinch, Russia. As usual, most of us Westerners, wishful thinkers that we are, 58 years past any semblance of grand geopolitical moves, dulled by as many years of "strategic ambiguity" and false belief in the demise of war between great powers, are utterly unaware of what matters. As if by a slickest of used car salesmen, we are duped and set up for things that will eliminate our naivete in one day's time.
