Finding a peanut in a pile of crap does not make it a meal.
Finding a kernel of possible truth in the ravings of Mr. Chomsky does not validate his view that America is a "terrorist" nation. His is the same kind of pseudo-intellectual logic which proposes that the police are as evil as the Mafia, the Israelis defending themselves equates with attacks directed at non-combatants, and the USA and Soviet Union were moral equals during the Cold War (a few million gulag internees would disagree).
He and his mutterings are utter garbage.

Refers I think to two million or so dead Armenians in 1902. Did happen and we had nothing to do with it since the government at the time was a Sultanate of the Ottoman Empire.
In other words, it was a Muslim genocide waged against a Christian population.
Our longtime alliance is with the present government of Turkey, which is a parliamentary democracy. While it certainly is not perfect, and has been woefully derelect in acknowledging this past crime, it remains hugely better than any government in any other Muslim country.

CNN doesn't really allow much time for deep discussions, do they?
I'm not really sure that these two blowhards would have gotten around to any deep discussions, but the two limit time constraint didn't even give them a chance.

Actually happened in 1915, but I agree with your argument.
To: driftless
In 1915 the Turks were allied with Kaiser's Germany fighting World War 2. We were ISOLATIONIST, as was the REPUBLICAN PARTY. And Hearst's powerful news agency was ISOLATIONIST!!!
We had nothing to do with anything, if anything our inaction and isolationism was to blame. But we stopped that crap after Pearl Harbor. And to avert such things from happening again we started to oppose tyrannies escpecially expansionist ones(including Noam's love of his life, the murdwerous, evil, police state know as the USSR) and promote freedom that is why we fought in Korea, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Grenada, Iraq etc. He is a communist blowhard.

The Israelis do not target innocent civilians.
The PA do. Chomsky is a communist disinformatia artist.
And most of his complaints concerning our history are imaginary, he rips all meaning historical fact of context and distorts them cynically, he blames all the civiliancasualties on us tomake us look evil. He is insane. The fact is civilians die in war, there havebeen isolated atrocites yes, many have been punished, Chomsky's heros promote their criminals. War is sometimes neccassary and Just. This country has fought many just wars for many just reasons, in a just way. A theologian would look at our history, he would see a few blotches. But he would look at our wars against Communism, Nazisim, British Tyranny, the Confederacy, our many interventions and our limited wars, and he would approveof our history as a rather clean one where the Good far outweighs the bad. We saved South Korea from Communist hell, if MacArthur did not over-extend our forces North Korea would have been liberated too. We liberated NAzi-Occupied Europe and Kuwait, we tried to quell things in Somalia. Etc. We ahve a rather honorable history, unless you believe the lies from jackass marxist proffessors talking about "rubber tree plantations". LOL

aren't you saying that you understand why America was targeted? CHOMSKY: Do I understand? Yes, so does the U.S. intelligence services, so does all of scholarship
All of scholarship? This is like saying "so do all the Democrats."
The liberals/Democrats understand why we were targeted and why others hate US because they hate US. To them, anyone who doesn't hate the United States isn't a patriot.
Because they are "fair". They are willing to look at all the terrible things the US has done "objectively" and emphasize with those who hate US for these wrongs. This makes them "worldly".
They consider themselves to be citizens of the world and, so, are patriots of the world. They look down on those who consider themselves to be patriots of the United States of America and are repulsed by America First supporters.
The Democrats believe that citizens of the world should have access to our country and all it's benefits without any responsibilty or duty. They believe in rights without corresponding duties.
