Expose the democrats for what they are in campaign ads. Democrats derive alot of their power by expanding and maintaining a large government. Government workers, and people dependent on government subsidies vote overwhelmingly democratic.

I will continue to argue against taxing the married and the dead as long as both houses continue to pork the appropriation bills. It is unbelievable how much money is being "porked" and then congress has the nerve to say no to tax relief!! And I believe they have salary increases every year. Last year while arguing against the tax cut, they were increasing their salaries. They use our money as if it is theirs to use. Senate rules--we need 60 votes for controversial bills but we can vote for a tax increase with a simple majority. No, if for no other reason, I think all conservatives should ban together to prevent a democrat/socialist dominated house/senate.

Your comments are reason enough for term limits. Instead these guys are career senators/reps and in so doing network and make deals. Look at the deal Daschle and the repubs are embarking on--we will look at your judicial nominees if you vote for a demo friend of Daschle on the FCC board.
IMHO, term limits like the one for the president, should apply to the senate and house. Remember, Ted Kennedy was the one who started HMO in the 1980's and he is the one who has been the cause of liberal agenda for so many years as well as Bobby Byrd. They become so used to what they do that they know how to sidestep the roadblocks. And I agree with you, Jeffords had to have been paid in more ways --not only head of committee but I am sure there were more deals.

Term limits doesn't answer the question about where are the honest congress persons speaking out in disgust of the dishonest ones. It doesn't happen.
It's the "good ol' boys club". To lobbyists and special interest groups the sell access to government power, but sell snake oil to us "little guys". We are out of power so we get squat.
However, think about who actually sustains life and creates prosperity for people and society? Job creating business and employees, science in research and development, entrepreneurs and the professions (except the tax and lawyer professions -- they're out for the most part). We "little guys" hold the real power. Without all us productive and creative workers politicians and bureaucrats perish. Flip it around and without them -- without the parasitical elite -- we flourish and create prosperity like there's no tomorrow.
Each year the federal politicians and bureaucrats create and implement 3,000 new laws and regulations. The claim they are "must have" laws that people and society can't live without. Yet how is it that for years and decades prior to each year's 3,000 new laws we not only survived but increased prosperity? And we do that despite a mountain of laws that we're already saddled with. Thirty new laws a year is probably overkill. But 3,000 is insane. Politicians and bureaucrats survive at our expense because we keep feeding them--parasitical elites
Bottom line: They are parasites. We are the host. We don't need them. They need us.
