St. John's trained a lot of California priests. The Fresno diocese recently reopened a local seminary so I don't think they're sending people to St. John's anymore. Still, the damage has been done.

Do you know anything about Zieman's activities in Tucson?

If Mahoney is connected enough to get whomever he wants appointed bishop (as in Levada), then where do the dominoes fall upward?

Can we get some kind of e-mail/snail mail directory of addresses going for letter writing campaigns; i.e. Vatican addresses, diocesan addresses, EWTN, Wanderer, etc? I'm thinking of a thread that we could all bookmark to keep handy.

Consecrated and distributed pieces of pita bread as Communion, and explained to the parishioners that it didn't matter what was used as the Body of Christ.

The bishop of the Albany, NY diocese, Howard Hubbard is one of several bishops being investigated by the Roman Catholic Faithful Organization. Given your comment, thought you might find the following excerpt from the president's newslette interesting. See also my post today on Albany Bishop.

I attend a diocesan parish and have never attended a parish affiliated with the Society of St. Pius X, so I cannot be rightly accused of pushing some “hidden agenda”. A Mass I once attended in an Albany diocesan church in Oneonta, NY, was celebrated by Bishop Howard Hubbard. According to parish members, the bishop used a homemade bread for the Eucharist that contained honey and other ingredients that would have made the Blessed Sacrament invalid. This is but one small example of what I have heard and witnessed in the last seven years of RCF’s existence. The Holy Father knows of these and many more abuses that have occurred with the apparent or outright approval of bishops in “good standing” with Rome. If the Pope does not take some action, and if he allows the continual deterioration of the Church in dissident dioceses, it may yet come to pass that the only Catholic Mass or faithful teachings to be found in these areas will be at a Pius X chapel.

 Roman Catholic Faithful

Thank you. I was particularly interested in this observation:

Plus we should kick some butt down at the local chancery if our bishop refuses to take action.

Jesus selected Judas to be an Apostle.

On another note, where is the canon of Scripture listed in the Bible?

And what does either question have to do with the topic?

The topic is: Why isn't the Catholic Church laity protecting their children by eliminating Priests from the ministry for sexual perversions, and why did it take generations for this grevious act to be an issue that the church would address?

Your own priesthood is filled with known homosexuals, and has been for years now, that cannot be denied since many of you are declaring that their actions aren't child molesting but homosexuality because a 12 to 14 year old boy is past puberty, and for this reason you try to use that as an excuse to tell the world that what is happening isn't so bad??

My goodness, Bible believers have condemned the liberal actions of Protestant Churches and continue today to condemn Jim and Tammy, Robert Schuller, Bob Tilden, Billy Graham for his ecumenism of the last 50 years, and you claimthat we only address sin in your church...I have a question myself:

When are you going to admit what is happening is a terrible thing and these perverts need to be arested just like the Protestant and Baptist are when they are caught? When are you going to throw out the Cardinals and Bishops that hid these perverts from the law?

I dont care what your profession is, if a group of men in company X are molesting children, and the board members are hiding it, there would be such a public outcry the company would close just from people looking to work elsewhere, let alnoe the police presence interviewing and arresting the perverts. Yet in the RCC, you have a wicked history of covering up, hiding, telling the laity it is no big deal...

Shandley and Law in Boston have been molesting kids since the 1960's, and you really think that a one week conference where they announce that Priests will be sent to the law NOW yet still remain Priests makes it all ok?? The very first responsibility your leadership has is to God, and they are to exercise discipline by throwing these wicked sinners out of the church, and STILL...you wont do it, even after the last week's meetings.

You have absolutely no moral authority to tell me anything that is in defense. The RCC response is dispicable.

I have no further comment to make, this is so disgusting what you are allowing to happen to what you think was a religion founded by Jesus Christ! You are letting pedophiles remain in the priesthood and serve in the church, and you are trying to tell everyone it is ok because you are Catholic. That is disgusting.

You won't even throw them out just to look good!!

"...When are you going to admit what is happening is a terrible thing and these perverts need to be arested just like the Protestant and Baptist are when they are caught?..."

Your righteous rage is as nothing compared to that of Catholics, but you are missing the Big Picture. You assert:

"...The topic is: Why isn't the Catholic Church laity protecting their children by eliminating Priests from the ministry for sexual perversions, and why did it take generations for this grevious act to be an issue that the church would address?...."

But Catholics know, as horrible as it is, the subject of pervert priests is only one of many perversions that afflict the Church. And the sexual perversions follow other perversions and deformations. The Church is rotting from the top and the middle----but so is our secular society.

Why do you think arrest and conviction by government authorities is somehow more fitting--more moral---more effective? Sexual perverts are routinely unleashed upon unsuspecting communities after having been processed and "cured" by government-approved "specialists". One notorious case in Montana--where I lived until last year--involved a Massachusettes boy-sodomizer who impressed a judge as a very fine citizen. He was released--with the requirement that he relocate to Montana--which he happily did. In Great Falls, the hunting was very fine and he molested many boys as well as killing several; hanging them on meat hooks to cure; cutting them up and eating them; It is also believed that he served portions of them to family members and neighbors of the victims whom he had invited over for a meal and to offer sympathy over the mystery of their missing sons. In the wake of this disaster Montanans were stunned to learn that many States routinely send their sexaul predators to Montana without informing local authorities. Montana--with a population of a little over 800,000--is now home to over a thousand sexual predators from other States. They were ALL arrested and convictedby the secular authorities in their various States.

Is the Big Picture coming into focus at all for you?

You also wrote:

"...I dont care what your profession is, if a group of men in company X are molesting children, and the board members are hiding it, there would be such a public outcry the company would close just from people looking to work elsewhere, let alone the police presence interviewing and arresting the perverts...."

Your simple faith in the uprightness of the men of Company X is.....very troubling, to say the least. In fact, it is precisely because the American Church has embraced the moral ethos of Company X that these outrages have been committed, protected and even fostered. There have been tons of articles posted about the sexual shenanigans of Company X all over the planet. One that comes immidiately to mind is defense contractor Dyncorps---is that how it's spelled? I can't seem to find the article, but it's quite revealing about "public outcries" and "groups of men molesting children" and "board members hiding it" and so-on-and-so-forth. Oh, and concerning your belief that the company would close just from people looking for work elswhereDyncorps seems to be doing quite well--new government contracts and all--in the wake of their sexual scandal.

Get in the Game RaceBannon!! We Is All Company X Now

In the past year I have received three letters from my school district stating that a sex offender has moved into the area. One need only call the district office and they will provide the name and address of the offender.

The police, of course, will have been alerted, and children can be warned to stay away from the individual, but it must be a very frightening situation for those who live in the same neighborhood. Of course, it might help if the Dads could organize a Welcome Wagon visit to the perp and exchange some neighborly advice.

And what does either question have to do with the topic?

You're using Scripture to make the case that the Catholic Church can't be Christ's Church since the hierarchy is sinful.

So I thought I'd take the opportunity to point out that the Protestant doctrine of Sola Scriptura is logically incoherent, and therefore, cannot logically prove anything.

We've got one a couple of blocks over. We don't let our two daughters 4 & 7 out of our sight. Not that we would these days anyway.

The town has posted his photograph, name and address in the local paper and on the web. The modern Scarlet Letter system seems to be working well so far.

I only stated the obvious, that you refuse to cleanse your hierarchy of pedophiles, and how that is un-Biblical, and you try to relate this to a sola-scriptura arguement?

These arguements show you don't even understand what is wrong. I am stupified. Flummoxed. Dumbfounded. Disgusted.

Oh man...this is getting bigger and bigger. What does it take for people to realize that reform is not going to fix it? Please start studying the Bible and find a group that follows it.

Problems in the hierarchy? FYI, if you want to know what's really going on in the Church regarding homosexual clergy, you might try reading Michael Rose's book, "Good Bye, Good Men."

OTOH, you don't seem to understand why Sola Scriptura is an incoherent doctrine of men.

"...In the past year I have received three letters from my school district stating that a sex offender has moved into the area...."

Isn't that nice? Band-aid politics with a sinister subtext. Everything is AOK America. Your letter is in the mail. (By the way, do you really believe that a college undergrad who took advantage of the opportunity presented by a drunken college slut and was, in the harsh light of dawn, accused of "date rape" should have letters following him around the country the rest of his natural life?)

Do you see how it works? ALL "sex" offenses are basically the same. We wait in patient supplication for the benevolent State to kindly inform us when a "sex" offender is being placed in our midst. (Of course, in my Montana example, the ogre slipped through the rather gaping cracks that lie between urban Massachussets and Montana. But such is Real Life--eh?)

"... The police, of course, will have been alerted, and children can be warned to stay away from the individual,

But, of course. If our society demonstrates anything it is that a well equipped police force will protect us. And these little letters have done a smashingly good job at protecting the little ones---haven't they?

"... but it must be a very frightening situation for those who live in the same neighborhood...."

This is the price we pay for living in the most free, most prosperous country in the world. And constant fear is a small price to pay---don't you think?

"...Of course, it might help if the Dads could organize a Welcome Wagon visit to the perp and exchange some neighborly advice....

True. It might also help if the same benevolent, letter-writing State you cite in your post wasn't so intent upon erasing Dad from the picture. I would be extremely interested to know what percentage of the young boys molested by priests were living in the State's favorite household--Mom and the State.

A confident, dad or a timely letter from the caring State.....Dads or letters....Dads or letters.....Hmmmmm....I think my roto-tiller just upturned a Root Cause!!!!!

However, I'm veering off onto a tributary of the content of the original post. Sorry about that. Back to: "Death to the Deformed American Church!!!" "Aux Armes, Patriarches!!!"
