Continuing on a lighter note, if the judge just throws out the case when the prosecution finishes, which looks very possible at this time, I wonder if DW will be free on Thursdays to do some light cleaning for me? LOL

Tragedy can strike the best of families. But parents can do a great deal to REDUCE THE PROBABILITY of their child being harmed. This includes many common sense precaution, among others, not inviting into the home a known pedophile, locking the doors at night, checking up on your children if you find an intruder might have entered the home, placing porn filters on computers, monitoring what the children watch on TV.

Man that is so true..and predators who have been stalking any family, can simply be like a snake, with lots of patience, just waiting for the perfect opportunity. On the other hand the creep could have been clearly on a revenge trip, and did something he would have never done if sober.

If the idiot predator has been planning for a long time and knows that the family is "overly comfortable" in their surroundings, (brenda and he exchanged #'s, she went in his house w/kids w/indicates a safe factor and trust) well they can be the next target. While the parents were idiots in this day and age to not check the kids etc....it's the fault of the predator who did this to danielle. Most people take for granted that their neighors are not harmful..IMHO, everyone, especially those with kids can do themselves a great favor and get a list of sex offenders in their community. A single friend of mine who has one child, taped a pic of a predator who lived a couple of blocks away underneath the peep hole on her front door so she and her daughter would recognize him if he ever knocked...she didn't keep it up after the child got older.. So far the evidence indicates that the people who entered the home were so-called friends. Maybe during the defense's presentation of evidence, they'll prove strangers entered the home..I'm waiting on that.

I never even considered the idea that the judge would throw the case out. This is the same judge Mudd who said he believes the evidence indicates guilt. That's why the trial occurred. PLUS judge mudd is aware of evidence that we know nothing about...I'm still in the "wait and see what else we learn about the evidence".

I leave open the possibility that the presecution may bring up some credible evidence against DW. But so far, the VDs and buddies have been awful, the cops sounded like they were from the neighboring town of Keystone (my overall impression, I did a lot of errands yesterday), and Feldman seems to be knocking them down as soon as Dusek sets them up. It does sound, so far, like Brenda sicced the cops on him to punish him for terminal geekness.

I said it flippantly. I could use some of his compulsive neatness around here. lol

And we could use some more levity, as we wait patiently for Nancy Grace's rapier-keen insights. LOL

We do know they took the van Dam computer(s) about the same time as they took Westerfield's. Given Feldman's question to Brenda about the porn on their computer, one suspects they had to share the evidence with the defense under the "discovery" rules. As for the others, I haven't heard of anyone else having their homes searched, their computers taken, etc. Doesn't mean it didn't happen, but it's not come out if it did.

The parents were kept away from their home for awhile and completed the routine polygraphs etc... (unless the reports were incorrect. we know they can be saturated with errors)

I suggest you read the entire post, Greg, before commenting. I was writing about the witnesses the prosecution put on the stand prior to yesterday. Those specific witnesses. I'm sorry if you have a problem with that, or if you have a problem with people expressing opinions that are not yours. It's called "the breaks"--this is a public board. My post followed the rules set out by Jim Robinson. When you called Angelique a "freak" you made a personal attack--that, Mr. Weston, is against the FR rules.

I agree that the parents friends have a lot to be desired, but I'm sure you can imagine that's it is probably more common than you or I would have thought. Judging from some of the posts I've witnessed, I'm starting to think that some people are shocked that some middle class or upper middle class folks party like wayward teens too. (now, I'm not attacking any socioeconomic level..so for those of you who think I am forget it) I will never completely comprehend "why" some people never grow up wrt:their partying. I have ideas, and see patterns but no clear answers, unless we research the bible then we DO know the answer. IMHO, there is no excuse for it.

This is a huge issue and I wish I knew with 100% certainty that there was no evidence in the Toyota. I agree that it seems unlikely that it would have been returned.

That's a pretty big hole. I can't see a jury being convinced that he transferred her body from his house to the MH on Saturday after dawn. The prosecution is going to have to lay out their theory of how he pulled this off from beginning to end and I think it's going to require some big leaps and stretches; figuratively and literally. :)
