Rush Clip Endorsing Dubya's New Cabinet Dept. on Tom Brokaw NBC Nightly News (Opening the Show)

What is Salmon Rushdie doing on the Coucil of Foriegn Relations page..they will let anyone in these days!!

He does not appear on the list of members I have from 2001, so if he is a member, he is new. I would also point out that a picture of Tom Ridge appears on their page and, as far as I know, he is not a member - atleast as of 2001.

Rush apparently has some relationship with Lisa Meyers-this is her 3rd mention of him,the last 2 or 3 weeks.She was in Fla interviewing him on something a few weeks ago,it was on NBC Nightly News and I swear,if you offered me a million dollars, I could not remember what the piece was about.

I wonder if they are trying to give Rush more press in order to hurt Oreilly ratings in this early formative period of his radio show's infancy.

Reason for this? Not to let conservative radio grow anymore as there are some new Lib shows coming to radio that need market share. They know they cannot take share from Rush but sure would like Bill out of the market.

Thank You LiberalBuster! I am so disappointed to hear people attacking Rush. I can't believe how some people have been bashing Rush lately, on numbers of threads. Rush does so much for the conservatives. Rush is not a yes man. He has integrity. I am thankful that Rush is not a go along guy. He is honest. If you look into the issue areas of Rush's disagreements with administration, (Not Bush Bashing, the disagreements) it is obvious. Would some people prefer that he agrees with everything the Bush Administration does, even if it's not what the republican/conservative parties stand for? I am relieved Rush is addressing these matters. If he didn't, it wouldn't be Rush. It appears some people are doing the same thing that they are claiming Rush to be doing. They don't agree with Rush and attack him. I don't read much debate on topics he disagrees with, just alot of Rush Bashing. He is standing firm. Bush is a great man. I will always support Bush, but wish he would stand firm with the issues he ran his campaign on.

Like what? I'm having trouble thinking of other examples.

I know I'm generalizing here, but the snippets I hear from Rush that indicate that to me are:

His acknowledgement that, however much we all dislike it, Bush has taken away a lot of issues for November; Farm Bill, Education Bill, CFR (knowing it will be legally challenged). His acknowledgement that even though we all want to pull the quick trigger on Iraq, that Bush knows he has to perform here and will do so.

These are just a few that indicate to me that Rush might feel, as he admitted with Global Warming, that he might have been a bit hasty with some of his criticism. I usually only manage to catch him for 45 min to an hour a day, so I don't hear all. Anyway, just MHO.

Does anyone truly believe the establishment media would trumpet someone who was calling the GOP grassroots to support the positive things the President is doing?

No, the liberal media thinks Rush is newsworthy only if his opinions fit their liberal viewpoint, which, lately, Rush's opinions do. Simple as that.
