I dont know which way to go with this one. But something is telling me she was not kidnapped, but rather ran off with a boyfriend.
Flame me if you want, but who thinks that is not a possibility?

Naw, couldn't be!

I hope you are right.

That as well. When all is said and done, I dont see this being a case of a stranger breaking into the home and kidnapping her as described in the article.
And it seems clear that the younger sister is in on the deal and putting forward the cover story for her sister.
I could be totally wrong and it could have happened exactly as described in the article but at this time I am skeptical.
To: Phantom Lord
I think it is not likely at all to be a boyfriend. I think the girl is already dead.

That was a thought of mine as well. Otherwise, it just seems way too random.

I don't mean she was kidnapped, I meant that she met someone online and then decided to run away and meet him. This happens a lot.

Talk about bizarre.
The nine year old sister waited two hours before wking her parents? Two hours? For crying out loud, I have a five year old who's sharper than that.
The abductor is described as a white male, with dark hair and wearing a white jacket and a white baseball cap. Elizabeth was wearing red pajamas
Everytime I've considered sneaking around a neighborhood at 2 AM, I've put on my WHITE jacket and WHITE baseball cap.
Police say there's no sign the man knew Elizabeth or his way around the house
The police can say anything they want, but this story just isn't passing the initial sniff test in my book.

I knew exactly what you meant and agree that it is a strong possibility. More so that the account given by her sister.

Flame me if you want, but who thinks that is not a possibility? Anything is possible, including the possibility the abductor wanted to feed her to his pet tiger.
In your scenario, the 14-yo ran off with her driving-age boyfriend, and the little sister is making up a story to cover up what she knows, so that "true love" can bloom. A fake abduction is a bit melodramatic, and not your likely elopement scenario. But if the little sister's making it up, we'll know soon.
Far more likely that the abductor is a pervert who saw her somewhere, followed her home, and took his chance at grabbing her. That'd be very bad: she's probably dead by now.

no flames here. my first thoughts as well.
To: Phantom Lord
Maybe so...
the two hour wait period---no disguise...
doesn't seem right!

Boyfriend and little sister complicit were the first things that went through my mind when I read the other thread - didn't have time to post at the time.
I'm praying that's the case, just a stupid teen trick.

However, I do recall that there was a little talk about Polly Klaas possibly being a "made-up"
abduction at the very beginning. Who knows.....I guess it's the sister that bothers me.

I would say the most likely scenario is that of
caa26. She met a guy online and we know how that often turns out. Far more likely than a total stranger busting in and kidnapping her.
And I dont think the sister is making up the story. I think the missing sister gave her the story and instructions on when and how to tell it.
