Kyoto was about transfers of money from those who produce to those who don't.

You're thinking too small. It's about transfer of sovereignty to the global collective. Money is a tool; power is the goal.

Now, we have Bush discussing the thing, and Rush is starting to see this as a rogue action by bureaucrats.

Actually I was a hard core republican until i watched Bushs' campaign and watched who he pandered to then. In short i left the reublican party in discust at what the party seems to offer as "the cream that rose to the top" and i went Libertarian. Say what you will about that party but at least they *have* core beliefs.

You "core believing" Libertarians and other third party people were happy to give us Bill Clinton. If third party types couldn't have their perfect candidate, they were going to punish the rest of us by shoving Clinton down our throats.

Guess what? Your perfect and pure candidate is not electable, but Hillary's waiting for your help.

The formerly much feared conservative shock troops are now in a near autistic state of self-flagellation, which if not checked could well result in the demise of this movement and indeed this republic.

Actually, I don't think this "near autistic state of self-flagellation will result in the demise of the movement." It will result in the demise of Rush Limbaugh's career.

Hell i'd settle with half measure right now for the republican party. But the Republican leadership has become de facto democrats.

"It's pretty sad, though, how there's a bureaucracy that just has a life of its own,..."

I'm sorry that I had to leave before I saw your reply.
Everything you said is right on the money, and it was very well said, I might add. I couldn't agree more with your post.
Thank you for your reply.

Here is this phrase from this author: The formerly much feared conservative shock troops are now in a near autistic state of self-flagellation, which if not checked could well result in the demise of this movement and indeed this republic.

He gives entirely too much power to these third party losers. Here is how I would say it:

The formerly much feared third party conservative shock troops are now in a near autistic state of self-flagellation and total collapse into the ash heap of political graveyards. This is due to their increasing irrelevance each day that GW is president.

They are not about to destroy this president nor this republic. They are being replaced each day with new conservatives who are winners not whining losers. They know it, and we know it! They are the coreciders as they commit political suicide by becoming totally irrelevant and powerless.
