OTOH in our last Senate race in Virginia, Allen- who was a perfect conservative and constitutionalist- had to back off from a correct stance on a 2nd amendment issue to get elected.
You're right about Reagan's last budget, but I don't remember that as a capitulation on any campaign pledge or point of constitutional law.
Try pragmatic RINOs who surrender principle in lieu of watered-down power because they find it difficult to stomach a real battle at the filthy hands of the liberal media and special-interest groups.
It is this centrist philosophy that allows the murdered unborn to be written off as a political casualty of "choice", Saddam Hussein to inexplicably walk free in '91, and "political correctness" to supercede the security of the United States of America.
It happened.
How about James Inhoff??? As I recall, he was the one who wrote the whole truth about the impeachment trial of X42 and went into great detail about our Security also.
Just a thought.

The truth will always prevail. If the latest environmental information is true it is true for all, politics nonwithstanding.
Limbaugh was ranting and raving recently about a Republican policy with which he is in disagreement? There's a shock. Still, the globe spins.
Anybody remember "I'm a uniter, not a divider?" That's right, our candidate represents all legal Americans, even those who happen to be what we consider liberal scum. I suspect that when an ultra-conservative candidate is actually viable the Republicans will field one. Such are the times, like it or not.
Plenty of babies and bathwater have been flying out of windows here lately at a time when we can ill afford to be divided.
This is what I'm doing.
I had some help from two friendly chairs as well. They also know I do my part by working my ass off as well. I'm the PAC treasurer for the top pro-2a group in the state - MCRGO(Michigan coalition for Responsible Gun Owners - 30,000 members.). We have a winning record, and we do have some pull in my county. We only have one gun grabber in the county elected, and that's the prosecutor. The sheriff isn't our friend, but I couldn't call him a grabber.
I go to all Livingston GOP events. I've been with them a year, and have already been considered for exec board. After only a year? We're a conservative county, but still. That's shows who works their ass off.
We have 6 candidates for an open state rep seat. All pro-2a. All pro-life.(at least they claim to be) The other seat will be won by a pro-2a NRA member and pro-lifer as well.
I'm running for precinct delegate, and I'm considering a run in 2004 once I gain more experience. We can take the party back, through HARD WORK. Are you up for it?
BTW - I couldn't do this with a third party here. It's next to impossible. I'm DOING IT NOW with the GOP.
First, I don't see Bush winning again. He's alienated the right (the laissez-faire right, not the National Socialist right), and all the Democrats will have to do to bump him out, more or less, is repeatedly display a quote he made not too long ago, recorded in the Washington Post, to the effect that he realized that Al-Quaeda was a threat, but he didn't feel the urgency. That's it. Then, barring a dose of sanity, he'll "oppose" a Democrat and be replaced with another Big Business Meets Big Government lackey who might phrase the rhetoric a little differently, but will advance the same agenda that Bush is pushing.
Second, I'd rather stand with the likes of Ron Paul and jump on the hood of the car that's trying to run me over, bang on the hood, and give the driver the finger, rather than just throw myself under the tires because the driver calls himself He-Who-Is-Not-Named-Gore.
Third, the most important thing we can do now, in my opinion, is make sure that the Internet remains open, fight any censorship, and push for online privacy. The Internet played a big part in the last election, but it's going to play an even bigger part in the next.
Fourth, the day that Ron Paul announces his candidacy, I'm going to go buy three new pairs of tennis shoes, and I'll wear all three out leafletting for the guy. I'm not going to vote for anyone I don't trust.
Excellent point.
I need to think back through the impeachment debacle and recall who stood up for law & principle.
RebelDawg, you are quite correct. This Conservative is not going to punch the ballot for Franklin Delano Bush again.
Just thinking about that very thing a few days ago. Still a good idea. Not the kind of thing to drop just because your candidate has won the election. It has to do with principles.
