PC? Not likely! Actually, Iif traveling cross country or overseas, El Al seems like the safest way to go. Of course the minimum wage non english speaking "screeners" in every airport will have to go. We do have a nice large pool of retired SF guys that would be excellent candidates IMHO. :-) I would be happy with a SEAL or Green Beanie or Force Recon as a first line of defense!

I have that pamphlet also. Looks like the FBI is also going after all the Civilian Review Boards established across the country to "police the police". How dare those citizens question the motovies of the police. They must be terrorists.

U.S. Customs has been using this technique for decades. It was a big part of my training when I worked Military Customs in Rota, Spain. What a comedy of errors that one end of the terminal is profiling people (for contraband) getting off the plane, while the other side is letting those who should be profiled (for attempting murder) get on the plane.

I have a sense that without wide bi-partisan support from national leadership and all three branches of the government, profiling would be impossible to implement given today's socio-political climate. In other words, protesters would have to be shouted down, shamed into silence. What are the chances of seeing that? Look at the recent tempest in a teacup created when some clothing firm dared to produce T-shirts saying something like "Two Wongs Will Make it White!" A national scandal it was for a week or so!

I think that these days we Americans would rather die than to appear unfair. Unfair, yes that's the word. We have an exaggerated sense of fairness and believe that perfect fairness and perfect justice are achieveable in this world. Better 100 murderers go free than one wrongly accused man be imprisoned, we say?! (Well, talk to one Gerald Amirault about that piece of national wisdom.)

To continue, the stated aim of the current security system is of course to catch or deter potential terrorists, not just to bother people. We the people, i.e. our elected representatives, want to achieve this aim in an absolutely, perfectly fair way. As we are seeing, the perfectly fair way is to be unfair to everyone, infants, grannies, war heroes included. Everyone suffers equally and to the sheeple that appears to represent the closest thing to that reachable perfect fairness.

This is no different than norming educational test scores to achieve the same outcome for everyone regardless of cultural background. No different than affirmative action, no different than literary or movie awards to half-wits, no different than standing ovations for a no talent like Whoopie Goldberg wherever she goes. Why, she's suffered enough, first as a slave, then in the death camps of the Holocaust and finally in the back of a bus! The airport security measures in this country can't help but reflect the past 30 years of our absurd history.

I'm so ashamed its been this long before we went to our Israeli Allies for help on Wascally Wahhabi spotting...I know the weather is nice and by all means sniff the flowers my Freepers, but take a moment and digest this...I was so dismayed by an article in the Seattle times about 5 years ago that an FBI agent described all attendees at a Survival Exposition at the Seattle Center as Terrorists...He even said he feared the one table there that was selling blowguns. Nobody mentioned all the home canning tables and Seed packets and Flour grinders and flashlights and first aid kits...Everybody that attended was a TERRORIST... I wrote the agent...Would have been glad to talk to him face to face, My feelings were hurt! People that don't trust aspects of our government are not TERRORISTS...People who build bombs and plot to attack government buildings are terrorists...People that want to home school and keep a gun on the premises are NOT terrorists...end of rant...Freep this thread, please...Double Ping, Important message! I know next to nothing about computers. Not all replies sent to me are different colors though. They come blue as I assume everyones does, and after I open it, it becomes purple. Some are purple before I ever read them.

The FBI pamphlet I saw says that anyone who refers to our Constitution frenquently is considered a terrorist.

I'm only guessing here, but was that pamphlet published by the government printing office before or after the '92 election - my guess is after.... Appendix (R)eno.

How long will it take until profiling is again allowed for law enforcement officials?

It may not be done "officially," but profiling is done. I have a police officer in the family and he profiles on his job every single day as do the rest of his fellow police officers. He can look into a crowd and identify right away the troublemakers and the other people to keep an eye on.

There's a UN stamp and a five pointed start with the letters FALN across it.

It was supposed to be a joint effort between the shireffs department and the FBI to help "American's " indentify "terrorists".

At work we have police officers as gaurds, I showed the pamphlet to one officer that I talk to a lot and he said he had seen it also.

Some things listed as potential terrorists are:

"Right Wing Extremists"

Which are listed as "defenders" of the US Contitution against federal government and the UN. (Super Patriots)

Groups of individuals engaged in para-military training.

"Common Law Movement Proponents"

Make numerous references to US Constitution.

Attempt to police the police.

"Single Issue Terrorists"

Animal Rights

Eco-terrorism

Insurgents- rebels

Color me a terrorist I guess. I refer to the Constituion and will defend it, especially against the UN.

That must be why the government is concerned enough about Churches to have the FBI spy on them.

But then since the 50's many of our Churches have been turned into government agencies just like our schools, through "incorporation". Which effectively silences them .

Some things we view as innocent can be very dangerous.

Incorporation goes back to before 600 BC in Greece.

Ceasar perfected it in Rome.

You could worship a rock if you wanted as long as Ceasar got his cut (sounds a lot like America today)

The Christians were persecuted in Rome, not because they worshipped Jesus Christ, but because they refused to take a license to do it.

Basically, incorporating a Church says that the Church gets its tax exempt status from the government (which it can lose). When the whole time the Church is "Tax Free" and accepts that status from no one.

The problem with this is that the government can take away the Churches "tax exempt" status. This means if the Church speaks out against homosexuality or against any politician they could lose their status, which effectively silences our institution to the Truth.

This is a side note to what is going on and what I believe is at the heart of all this, as our government tries to separate us from our God.

Troublemaker profiling is probably legal. Racial profiling is not. Then, too, what is meant by "profiling?" It would have to be an act of the official representative of the public sector [which would have to include government regulated industries such as transportation and education,] because it cannot apply to acts of private citizens. Can it? Of course, if a private citizen is anywhere other than on his own front porch, he is on either public property or someone else's private property and has probably zero rights. People who rent probably have no rights anywhere. Let's take a look at this "profiling" question and try to get a better handle on what is happening here in the legal, that is, the real world.

500 yards with a 308? Sounds like Supra military training to me. Hell, these days, owning an air rifle probably qualifies you.

As for the Constitution thing, I'm in real trouble - I actually took an oath to defend it against all threats, foreign and domestic. Hell, I took that oath twice - I'm in double Jeapordy. The FBI should be showing up at the door about five minutes after I post this!
