Praying that the crew made it. It loooks like the chopper's cabin didn't collapse. Message to guardian angles: please protect them.

It's on the main page, just under the big headline. I can't link it, because of the way they do their javascript.

i don't wish to seem heartless but...if people are stupid enough to attempt these ego gratifying adventures and then get into trouble...let their families pay for and organize the rescue attempts. i think we have more important things to worry about than these fools.

To: B Knotts
Wow! Thats a better feed than my TV! Thanx.

FOXNEWS is sticking with the story...I guess they are waiting to see if the second helicopter will crash...because they are not reporting any new news...they are just trying to come up with stuff to talk about. ghouls!

At least 6 people up there were from TVF&R Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue doing some training. 1 is critically ingured. There were at the scene during the fall and at the crash. Their assitance will be a Godsend to those people. These guys are all pros and their HQ is only a few miles from my house.

I agree people who do these things put others at risk in the pursuit of the own pleasure, but still what are you gonna do leave them to die. There is no way these guys in the chopper are going to sit on their hands. Maybe every person rescued (because of their high risk hobby) should be made to provide support for the families of those who died trying to save them.

You do sound heartless. But.....I do agree with you. People who take risks in precarious locations often put their rescuers at risk also.

...let their families pay for and organize the rescue attempts. I agree. Let them be notified, before heading up the mountain, that if they require an airlift and/or rescue to get their idiot asses off of the mountain, they will be presented with a bill that may run into thousands of dollars.
That may bring their head out of the clouds...as well as other places.

There will be a lot of these following record or near record snowfalls coupled with surging heat in many areas.
When these temporary glaciers start to melt and slide down, all stability is lost. An area that was safe to be on a few days ago is like trying to stand on mud as it goes down hill.

Cool video. That kicked ass!
