"3.1 million bucks to sooth his pain"

Now that's tasteless, Reno For Governor camapaign team tasteless. Like I'll keep on saying, people have short memories.

He is UNTOUCHABLE!

But there are numerous Clinton holdovers still working at the bureau.

And, you studiously avoided the point I made ... that there were/are ways to put those holdovers in compromising positions where they can be fired.

And, by the way, even without firing them, they could be reassigned into jobs where the damage they could do would be minimal. Has that happened?

Yes, when Congress denied Ashcroft discretionary firing power, he reassigned I believe 6 top officials.

So then what was keeping him from investigating some of the major Clinton/DNC crimes? Some of the move-on'ers keep telling us it was because he has to clean house first. If the house was clean, what was the holdup? Remember, we are still talking pre-9/11.

Those weren't offenses to kill people over. They weren't a threat to anyone. If the government thugs had been patient, they would have eventually come out.

I am not defending the Feds. They screwed the pooch big time. HOWEVR Weaver had 18 months to answer to the gun charge, which he was convicted of BTW. Weaver is a especially despicable. And Koresch had 54 days to do the same. The parents of the kids were free to leave at any time and some did. At the very least the rest could have sent the kids out.

Well considering a federal agent, Lon Horiuchi, shot Weaver's wifes face half off while she was holding nothing more lethal than her own baby as well as his son being shot in the back by another "brave" agent, I'd say he received a just compensation to rebuild his life and family.

Yeah and the bastid is sure enjoying it. Look, and weaver did NOT deny this, no one even knew that Vickie had been hit until Beau Gritz , I think that was his name, went to the cabin and Weaver told him about it.

I am a native Texan. I retired elsewhere. After reading the replies of some of the Texans on this thread, I think I should be glad I did. I'm not impressed with their views at all.

If Schippers says it you better pay attention. Bushs failure to dismiss Clintons toadies will prove to be the worst of many failures by his administration. Mr.Goody Two Shoes is starting to get tiresome. Except for a few days after 9/11 a garbage can could have done as good a job. And I voted for him and contributed to his campaign. Silly me.
