Not much, especially airburst types. They are relatively clean. I would guess if they intend to kill as many of each other as possible, that is what they would use.

Ground burst is only used for taking out stratigic assets like airports and switching yards. Those produce the fallout everyone is so afraid of. But even then, 100 miles down wind, the radiation is pretty low level.

Any info on what the background radiation level would do Stateside if they tossed a couple dozen fission weapons at each other?
