When the first few books came out a few years ago, my husband and I read them as fast as we could. I lost track after my son was born, so could you point me in the direction of a list of the books after ROTJ? I loved the Kevin J. Anderson books, but those are the only ones I can remember reading.

I remember one of my favorite ones was Splinter of the Mind's Eye (I can't believe I can remember that title!). Although, some reason I seem to remember some romantic tension b/w Luke & Leia.

We had a guy in high school who looked like C3P0. I drew a picture of him, with a plug coming from his leg to a wall socket. I hung it on his locker. He stared at it for a while, and then ripped it into a hundred pieces.

You can find a pretty accurate chronological listing of all of the novels inside the newer novels. Just go to any major bookstore chain and look inside some of the 'Star Wars' novels on the shelves. The two I have right now are from '97 and '99, by Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta, and they don't have the chronology, but many others do.

You can get some real bargains on these and other used books on eBay. That's where these two I have came from.

Question: Since the Arabs are complaining, how did they miss the description of the 'Tusken Raiders'? "Sand people that walk like men, but are animals. I killed them all (Anakin), men, women and children."

Did you happen to see the winning "homage film" on the Sci-Fi Channel? They've been repeating that Special for the past several days, so it's likely to turn up again - or you can view it on atomfilms.com. I cannot recall the name of the winning entry, but the "close combat" scene between the central Jedi character and the Tusken raider ends with the "sand person" being decapitated, light-sabre style. Then his head is lobbed into the air and blasted, like Jedi skeet! The beheading thing sure lends more weight to the Tusken Raider = Arab argument.

Or it could just be a bunch of silly fun, totally lacking in meaning.

Well, except for how the poor, misunderstood Ewoks are cast in such a bad light due to racial stereotyping. The Ewok is shown to be primitive and simple and never gets the girl, obviously because the creator of the movie is discriminating against races that happen to be short, furry and cute.

Alas, the poor Ewoks. Living happily on Endor in Episode 6, on the very cusp of further character development, and Lucas declares "Tough Noogies... Episodes 7, 8 and 9 ain't gonna happen. I have enough money now! Bwahahahahahaaa!!!"

Maybe so. I haven't ever had time to read all the Star Wars Universe stuff. I quit reading about half-way through the Jedi Academy stuff. One thing about it, he's still the master of special effects. I thought the crowd was going to go berserk during the Yoda scene. I just wish it'd been longer.

If anything, the movie 'The Fifth Element' and alot of the other movies mentioned ripped-off the description of their flying car chases and other action sequences from decades of other licensed 'Star Wars' literature.

Hanna-Barbera beat George Lucas to the "flying car chases" by years. The most obvious influence seen in The Fifth Element is straight out of the "Harry Canyon" segment in Heavy Metal.

After all... Lucas didn't sue anybody over the Bruce Willis film. Let's see what happens when the Sci-Fi Channel moves forward with their planned reincarnation of Battlestar Galactica. Will Lucas be able to stand it, or will he send out the Juris Doctors of the Sith to do his bidding? ;-)

Yes, I have seen it, but people hated Jar-Jar before. I think it's just because he was annoying.

Jar-Jar is like the average liberal; he's weak-minded and does what he does on the suggestion of others. I look at him kinda like Alan Colmes....too dumb to hate.

Professor Jose Cuello is on O'Reilly right now debating a movie critic. He's being REALLY ridiculous about the "racial sterotyping" in Episode II. I'm surprised no one has brought up the fact that the guy who played Jango Fett is Maori (his accent was very New Zealand-ish). He also said that the movie "promotes" war as a solution and technology as a "virtue" or something along those lines (like THAT is a bad thing).

Well, I think I read it when I was in jr high or high school, so perhaps time has smoothed out the rough edges. ;)
