The invasion of Dagestan by the Chechens was all the excuse needed to put an end to the Chechen Wahabist state. The apt bombings happened after. That is plural as in bombings, with several occuring in Dagestan as well, including an army barracks housing military families.

Here is where I put your claims to rest that the Russians needed an excuse to LIBERATE Chechnya. As you can see from the time line the Chechens already invaded Dagestan TWICE! The Russians needed no "soccer mom" type excuse to go back in to take back Chechnya:

As a self interested American I saw the Chechens as a great threat to the West long ago and to those people who hold the same values (even if diluted by years of communism) as America and the West.
I also hold facts in high regard, so when I see pukes posting false facts I have to call them on it. They assume that Americans don't care enough to read and study about foreign policy or history and maybe they are right, but not in the case of this American.
Americans are killing Chechens in Afghanistan right now and may they kill more every day.
The Russians did not need to an excuse to LIBERATE Chechnya again, the Chechens invaded Dagestan first. The bombings by the Chechens happened only when the Chechens were losing as my timeline shows
