I had the idea awhile back that apartment buildings would be VERY vulnerable to planted bombs. EEECK!!

Apartments and 9.5 tons of missing cyanide salt

Fancy Apartments (or Condos) might have central water softner. Softner uses salt to regen. Arab maintaince man. Not unusual to bring salt in. Wrong salt in the wrong tank, and lots of dead rich people. Kill lots of kids by putting it in the pool. No bomb needed. 1 once per apartment should do it. Memorial Day seems logical.

You mean the modus operandi of the KGB. Though, I don't doubt that Al Qaeda would be quite willing to copy a successful tactic of the Russian nomenklatura. The greater freedom of US society would help them. The fact that Al Qaeda doesn't control an appropriate US agency will hinder them.

Likewise, it seems as though one of their cells that was busted just after 9/11 in Italy (I think) had been rehearsing with cyanide and the fresh air intakes of large buildings. In that case, they were transporting the cyanide in tomato cans, and then once on site they would mix it with acid in front of the air intake (hydrogen cyanide).

How many Arab maintenance guys are in the States? With access to the HVAC systems of VERY LARGE FACILITIES? (New York subway? Shopping malls? Contractors to the Pentagon? How about a baseball stadium? Political rallies? hmmmm..... Some of these places have already been listed in warnings.) Just think about anywhere that there is a large concentration of Americans connected to the same air supply or water supply.
