Because I enjoy an ocaasional drink (note: I said drink, not drunk), and I dance with my wife on occasion, and I enjoy wholesome movies. I personally don't believe those things are neccesarily sinful.
You probably don't really belong to much of anything.
As a matter of fact I belong to a church in which I am quite active. Apparently you haven't noticed that I spend a good part of two threads defending the church in this article, or else you wouldn't jump to conclusions.
Good. Since we homechurch, regulation of the church members behavior is within the powers given to ME!
You forget, the Church is the community of believers as a whole. Believers in the GOSPEL. I'll be darned if I'm going to join a particular congregation with members who are going to follow me home to see if I stop off at the bar for a few beers, and then report it to the pastor so he can make a show of publically kicking me out. I don't need that. I'm confident in my status as a saved Christian.
I don' think that that was the case in the issue of the stripper. The fact remains the she signed a document agrreeing to the edicts that the school supports and enforces.
In this case the stripper made a big deal about it not the Church. The Church did correctly by attempting to get her to turn from her sin. When she was unrepentant they dismissed her and the child because the fact that the woman is a stripper will eventually cause discord in that school.
The fact remains that when a church is forced to ask someone to leave they do not announce to the world why. If the Church did that then I would condemn them for it.
Again I will say that If my mother became a stripper and used that as an excuse in order to put me through school, It still does not chage the fact that she is a harlot.
True. I fully support the church's right to free association.
I don't disagree with anything you say. It is a private church, and they have freedom of association on their side.
