If China comes in big it would mean the end of their territorial ambitions to the east [Taiwan, South China Sea] for a long time. They know that and so would do their best to stay out unless it all spills over into their present territory. When the planes and shells start flying, though, the national assembly might panic and commit to something they shouldn't. Time to be cool and collected.

We can't even restrain Saudi Arabia, another "ally", from supporting terrorism

Which begs the question: What the hell is the "war on terrorism?"

But, is there really a big desire for a war against Pakistan among Hindus in India? The intellectuals are against it and want to keep jaw jawing. The military is eager to let loose. The man in the street is for it, even Muslim civilians in Pakistan eager for peace and seeing that peace as only coming when at the very minimum, jihadi camps in PakistanOccupied Kashmir are destroyed.

Yeah. Just got back from watching Star Wars, actually.. I haven't read through this whole thread yet, but based on what I've seen so far I can't imagine there'll be much left unsaid by the time I'm done. I just wanna say, sometimes conflicts can't be solved peacefully.. sometimes war is necessary. Are we there yet? I can't say. Oh well.. let's see how this turns out.

Yes. They are much more concerned about Taiwan, control of the South China Sea, trade with the Pacific Nations (including the USA). They would not risk these objectives for "political hay" in the 'steppes and 'stans.

What an analysis. Simplistic, out-of-touch-with-reality, wild-eyed, ludicrous.

Do some reasearch next time.

Muslims eager for peace? Ha, ha haaaaa! Mohammedans only cry for peace when faced with armed men. When there are women and children to murder, they are drooling for war... nonstop.

How would China get in? There's a small obstacle in the way called the Himalayas. There isn't a broad enough front in the Kashmir for China to intervene in large enough numbers. Also, their military is mainly deployed near Taiwan, Vietnam and Siberia. And if they used nukes, the US would have the excuse to take down the Chicoms permanently.
