Insinuating that I am a simpleton because I want the perverts to pay for their disgusting acts makes me REALLLLLLLY wary of the "defenders" (ie: YOU).

You obviously haven't read any of my posts on the priest sex abuse threads, as I have been one of the strongest advocates for locking them up.

Whipped up? Gimme a break. The only people who have "whipped up" this scandal are the molesting priests themselves and their protectors in the heirarchy of the church.

You sound like every other in denial catholic I talk to. Someone or thing must be behind this right? One Catholic even suggested to me it might be the Scientologists behind this. Seriously.

Since *I* am not "Catholic" or anti-Catholic, I come to this issue able to discern between the traditional haters of Catholicism....being aetheists and Fundamentalists-especially the Southern Baptist breeds-, and clear-eyed objectivism.

While I have no apologies for those who commit such crimes, nor those who cover them up, I also have no theological or cultural axe to grind. It is amazing how the Catholic bashing ilk slither out of their myopic holes of loathing and take every opportunity to attack such and old and widespread faith. For many of these bashers, it could be that their own mutated faith system is still at war with Rome, even after hundreds of years.

Too bad. Kinda sad, kinda sick.
