When I first looked at this thread, I thought is was a joke, and started looking for the humor label on top. Unfortunately, there was none.

It will end up being an incredible system with both the US and Russia working on it together. It opens up all kinds of possibilities.

Is this sarcasm? Sort of like the US and Russia working together on the ISS? An incredible system?

I understand that the best sarcasm is the kind that doesn't really appear sarcastic. I say: well done.

Good. Dump the treaty, build the ABM system even if America pays for everything including Russia's stuff, and let the rest of the world scurry around wondering why. Thanks also to HRC and Dem Congresspersons for urging a stronger national defense by demanding improved intelligence operations.

"U.S. intelligence agencies have uncovered new information that Osama bin Laden and his terrorist group, al Qaeda, are acquiring from the Russian mafia components for weapons of mass destruction."

If the Russian commitment to being a free society lasts, and it looks like it might, they just may turn out to be our best friend in preventing a one world government.

America and Russia have a lot more in common now then we do with just about any other non-English speaking country.

We are both nationalists for example. Compare the way the US reacted to terror attacks and the way Russia reacted. In both cases the inclination was to kick butt and take names.

Neither of us really cares what the rest of the world thinks of us.

Both of us control large areas of land rich in natural resources and don't worry too much about over crowding.

We both face the same threats, (China and the Islamics) and we both have large mixed race populations.

We look to the future rather then the past. We don't like the idea of the rest of the world bossing us around and neither do they. Both of us understand that under the rule of the UN that is exactly what would happen.

Oh one last thought, we are both strong enough to make the other have second thoughts about taking over the world. You have to hand it to them, they did try. And we stopped them. But their dream was not the Europe dream of a one-world government. It was a dream of a one-world government with them in charge.

Europe is heading for the ash heap of history, they have wound themselves up with so many rules that movement and growth is next to impossible. Africa, well, it is a pity about Africa. South America may emerge in another 50 to 100 years, but not yet. China is getting ready to go to war within the next twenty years. They have a terrible population imbalance. Once the boys reach marrying age and there are 6 boys for every 5 girls there is going to be trouble. India has the same problem as Europe, too many rules.

Just a few Friday night musings. I am sure there are a hundred reasons why I am wrong but I am trying to keep an open mind as to who is our friend and who might be our friend in the future.
