Taylorville residents said DePaepe and Barlow were off hunting in Montana. See what kind of people own guns, go to Montana and hunt?
Just kidding there but if Jennings ever got ahold of this story it would be the one part he would highlight.

Its a shame that this had to happen right in the center of the city and has been blown up into such a big thing, he added. "They are beating a dead horse..."

Maybe they were trying to roll start it...

Outspoken critics have asked why the police did not issue the men any traffic tickets or give them a sobriety test. Why do I think the consumption of alcoholic beverages may somehow have been involved?

There are a couple of approved methods for disposing of the carcass of a horse--dragging it behind a truck (especially through town) to the dump isn't one of them.

"BEATING A DEAD HORSE IS MORE FUN THAN YOU THINK
A Partisan's View of the Southland"
Book title, funny book, will keep ya laughing your A off. By Ludlow Porch. FUNNY STUFF! Maybe these horse draggers had just read this book. Anytime I hear the phrase "That's just beating a dead horse" I think of this book and chuckle to myself. Well sometimes it is fun.

The theme song from "Mr Ed" has been going thru my mind all day.
Some things you just can't explain.

That book DID leap to mind, yes...
Taylorville Mayor Jim Montgomery Jr. said it was a public relations black eye for the city that describes itself as a great place to live....
I'm thinking maybe the town needs to change the sign at the town limits to "Taylorville - great place to live, but after you die, all bets are off..." ;0)

You know, the French love horsemeat... Yeah, I know but I bet they don't drag them through the streets. Even the Frogs have some ethics--I think.

While I agree that dragging a dead horse through the center of town is in bad taste, and lacks of ethics, I'm just shocked that the media find this to be news...
I'm just waiting for the commercial from the DNC that tries to pin this on Bush...

NOW you got me humming that tune... A horse is a horse of course of course
unless of course that dragging horse is dead in Taylorville of course. Then it is just a toy!
Taylorville man boards plane.
Flight attendant asks him "Is THAT a dead horse you have with you?" You will HAVE to check it."
Taylorville resident replies, "But sir, it is CARRION!"

several Taylorville residents said DePaepe and Barlow were off hunting in Montana. I bet they were. Probably told to get out of town until things simmer down. I hope someone *does* tar and feather them.
