Perhaps the powers that be didn't trust Carter enough to divulge any information.

It's now apparant that he can't be tusted with information.

That freak ought to be charged with collusion with the enemy. He's a communist and now he's admitting it. We ought to ban from reentering the US. We'd be rid of him for good.

He never could be - even when he was president.

Yeah, but he swings a mean hammer...

Jimmy-Bub has been out of office for over 20 years.

He's no more entitled to be briefed on national security intelligence than Louis Farrakahn.

Or Carter lied -- ummm, exagerated/had a senior moment -- and had been told that there was reason to believe that the Cubans are doing som but stated the opposite knowing it would be be denied without the denial itself revealing more than enough to compromise current investigations.

I think most of us could have written this headline and story a week in advance.

I had forgotten how Jimmy seems to get some kind of sexual charge out of baring his throat to our enemies.

All ex-Presidents are entitled to, and receive, intelligence briefings.

My bet is that it is just as likely that Washington would tell this bozo the full truth as it is that Havana will. Bumper sticker = "Jimmy Carter - Forty Years Working Against America"

All ex-Presidents are entitled to, and receive, intelligence briefings.

They may recieve them out of respect for the office they once held.

That doesn't mean they're entitled to them.

They are NOT.

Of course Castro promised Jimmuh "full access" to BW labs:
Jimmuh Cartuh wouldn't know a biological weapon if it swam up to his canoe!

Why can't I get the phrase "useful idiot" off my mind when I think of this?

Tell me it was a dream I had

Nightmare is a more apt description of the Carter 'presidency'.

Please Jimmy don't ask Castro to promise to release dissident prisoners again.
