I can, I can. White bread. Thank you, thank you, I think you really like me.;^)
Don't forget, also, about Iginla on the Flames. One of the best players in the league, and, I'm proud to say, on our Gold-winning Olympic team.
To the American sports networks, hockey is a necessary evil. They can't claim to be a comprehensive sports network without covering it, and they don't think it's important enough to understand and cover with any vigor, This as opposed to the way they currently cover NASCAR and the flippin' X-Games, which, sadly, out-rate pro hockey stateside.
I now have cable for the first time in my life, and the best thing about it -- along with VH-1's Behind The Music -- is getting to see hockey several times a week. But once I turn to local newscasts, I have to endure sports guys who don't do enough homework to name the team's top goal scorer correctly. It's not "Team-moo" Selanne. It's "Tay-mu," maddoggit!
If there is someone you love that you want to get into hockey, watch it on TV and explain that everything happens around the blue lines -- crossing it, not crossing it, having to stop attacking if the puck leaves the zone. That will be a start. Once they understand icing, that's half the battle. Then take her/him to a game. Once they feel the chill of the ice, witness the speed of the players, hear a check into the glass in person, and feel the intensity of the crowd, s/he will be hooked.
Anything served at a "Cracker Barrel" restaurant.
It's too bad that a banana has such racial connotations in this context. It's the fault of both those who would never throw a banana at anyone white and the race hustlers who would sue everybody every time a banana is thrown at someone.
Yes it does........ wonder who they are aiming at, when the throw an Octipus on the ice, do they have an 8 armed player. ?
MONTREAL -- Two nights after a fan threw a banana at Carolina Hurricanes goalie Kevin Weekes, the Montreal Canadiens said Molson Centre security guards have been asked to watch for racist behavior.
The banana was thrown onto the ice as the players went to the dressing room after Montreal's 2-1 overtime victory Tuesday night in Game 3 of the best-of-7 Stanley Cup playoff series. Weekes, who is black, said he's not concerned about the incident. "I know it's 2002, but I fully understand that there's always a couple of idiots everywhere you go and I won't let it mar my experience of being here," Weekes said after Carolina's 4-3 overtime victory Thursday night that tied the series 2-2. "I love playing in this building and playing against the Canadiens. I won't let that dim my experience at all. There were 20,000 people and I'm sure 99 out of 100 are good-natured people compared to one percent of fools." Canadiens spokesman Donald Beauchamp said in a statement the team "does not tolerate such behavior and if members of our security staff witness such actions, they will react promptly." The Raleigh News-Observer reported that Carolina defenseman Aaron Ward pointed out the banana to linesman Ray Scapinello. Ward also declined comment. "We brought it to the attention of the league, but Kevin just wants to let it go, so we're willing to do that," Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford told the News-Observer. "We don't hold the Canadiens responsible for the behavior of a fan." A capacity crowd of 21,273 attended the game. Banana throwing and other racist acts aimed at black players have been reported at European soccer matches in the past, but it is the first such incident reported at the Molson Centre. Similar acts have been reported at junior hockey games in Canada.

Being silly, is giving this jerk his 15 minutes of fame, some people are soooo anal about little unimportant things.
Things are thrown all the time, it's rather childish, but there you have it.
You aren't even a hockey fan.
