I can understand the reference to 'delusional' and won't deny the possibility. If one were, one obviously wouldn't know it (but that cuts both ways, doesn't it?) But egomania? You'll have to explain that if you can - unless that's just your last little petty dig. Should have stopped at 'delusional'. You would have made your point and still kept your credibility.
Bye! And have fun!

Evolution, on a small scale, has been proven. It is not even in dispute. What is disputed is whether Darwinian evolution can account for all the species we see. What do you mean by small scale? Are you refering to "adaptation"? That is not evolution. When experts argue evolution vs. creation, they are not debating adaptation (small scale)--they are arguing Darwinian evolution as he originally theorized it. They are debating whether all life began in the primordial ooze, each species evolving from another.

Unless you were referring to those who try to explain creation without God. In which case - Never Mind!!

"Were it not for the existence of sin in the world, says Calvin, human beings would believe in God to the same degree and with the same natural spontaneity displayed in our belief in the existence of other persons, or an external world, or the past. This is the natural human condition; it is because of our presently unnatural sinful condition that many of us find belief in God difficult or absurd. The fact is, Calvin thinks, one who does not believe in God is in an epistemically defective position-rather like someone who does not believe that his wife exists, or thinks that she is a cleverly constructed robot that has no thoughts, feelings, or consciousness. Thus the believer...
reverses---Freud and Marx, claiming that what they see as sickness is really health and what they see as health is really sickness."
Egocentrict---self favoritism--bias(evolution)---wish/will-full thinking?

Even Darwin refuted his theory (on his deathbed).
Sorry, but that is an "urban myth" sort of thing, and has been proven false over and over again.

Understand. Thanks for explaining.

The Beatles (more popular than Jesus) said it best in "Evolution # 9":
"You say you want an Evolution,
Well, you know, we all want to change the world!"
First of all, that borders on sacriledge in my opinion. plus....
That quote would have come from "Evolution"...the only lyrics to Evolution #9 would be...."Number 9"

That my friend is why you have no answer as to if God exist, you haven't asked the creator. That's all well and good, but who is the creator and where do I find him so I can ask?

#137 - And I certainly agree with that.

That's all well and good, but who is the creator and where do I find him so I can ask? You can find the answers to your questions in the same place I'll bet you found all the information and names of authorities you trust on evolution - in a book. In this case, the Bible. You've read other books, found them credible and aparently believed them (and, I'll bet again, never met with or spoken to the authors) have you even tried this one?
To: tortoise
Aw, I see you're an optimist, eh!
We pessimist guys do the comparative hell analysis before selecting our religion. Well, suum quique I'd say ;-D

A lot of atheists have indeed read the bible. And there are certainly some (mostly former fundamentalists) who know the bible better than most Christians.
So reading the bible can also have the opposite effect.

The problem, as always with idiots like creationists, is that Hovind does not and probably cannot understand evolution. Right. Dr. Hovind has devoted his life and ministry since 1989 to debunking evolution. He has encapsulated his position in a 15-hour best-selling video series. He gives regular seminars, appears on countless radio shows, and in short, lives, eat and breathes debunking evolution mythology.
But you say he's an "idiot" and "cannot understand evolution."
Sure, whatever.

True, but tortoise was asking where he could get answers about the God that Christians believe created the universe. Besides, is will always be easier to argue against a particular point of view if you have indeed studied and considered that point of view and found it lacking.

He has encapsulated his position in a 15-hour best-selling video series.Best selling to whom? I certainly do not believe it is to; biologists, geologists, paleontologists, physicists, astronomers, or any of the other major science disciplines.
