Dave, thank you SO much for being there and providing those reports. I have been there on that end of the cell phone at Klamath Falls last summer and know how it feels.

Thanks, what I did yesterday was a cake walk compared to your reports from Klamath Falls.

Again, kudos to you for the WTC Petition (400,000 signatures!) and for being named FReeper of the Year. You have done some great work and it is really appreciated.

I had a great time at the rally and would like to thank FR for putting on such a super event. The speakers and organizers all did a great job. Regretfully, I only managed to bring two guests with me: one a colleague from the office, the other a spouse from home. Both enjoyed the day, however, and thought it was a great show put on FR. I couldn’t make up my mind on a sign, so I made a flip-board sort of thing with six messages. The signs that could be staked into the ground would have been another solution -- next time. Below are a few photos of the day’s fun:

just an abservation from the coverage i saw on foxnews. th said that the freeper rally was very much in favor of the world bank and imf policies. not the best message to get out inmho. sorry if the point was already raised.

But at least I knew the outcome of the battle I was viewing, as opposed to the battle I had just left!
From reading the posts, it sounds like I left in the nick of time!
It was a great event and well worth the trip!!!!

It also makes me feel very blessed to have a husband who worries about
me enough to think about the precautions I should take!

Thank you all and to everyone else from the DC Chapter who worked so hard to put the Rally together. While it would have been great to see us match the America-haters person for person, the fact that we were there and we stood our ground was an important statement.

I think someone else said it earlier in the thread, but I witnessed what appeared to be a (poorly) planned attempt to infiltrate and disrupt the rally from the beginning. Shortly into Congressman Billybob's speech, a small group of punks started yelling, "Money for bombs, not for schools." They had also planted themselves near a few of the reporters that were there. I think it was an attempt to paint our rally as extremist. They were escorted out by the cops as we were preparing to escort them away in a less than gentle manner.

The speakers were excellent, B-1 Bob Dornan was my favorite, and Kevin Martin was a close runner-up. I think that the volume of our sound system is what caused the near riot, as the America-haters could hear B-1 Bob speak the truth and they didn't like it.

I look forward to standing with you and other Patriots again in the future.

Don't know how FOX came up with that. That sort of confusion should be expected though when the other side has such a dog's breakfast of issues. Its kind of hard for us to "counterprotest" part of what they are saying. I suppose that's why its important for Freepers to stay on message with a positive message of their own. If FOX had bothered to interview anyone, they would have been told that FR was there to support the troops and to support America's War on Terrorism.

Dave...First, let me apologize for my overdue post to you.

Yesterday was just FReeping Fantastic! All the pics from you and MM7 are Outstanding. I'm also extremely grateful that you and the DC FReeRepublic Chapter offered me the opportunity to be a conduit in reporting your live on scene updates...(I was glad we settled the cell phone connectivity problem).

Second, I mangled and missed some screen names in the threads' opening. Sorry about that.

DC Chapter, Well Done, Loved it, been waiting years to go to DC, swore I would never set foot in the place while the Bent One was in office, B1 Bob was a bonus, my favorite Barney basher.

I have seen several posts about the turn out. I personally do not like rallies, though in this case, it was almost mandated. The thing will rankle in the craw of these commie scum terrorist supporters, is that a couple of hundred people had the nads to hold a counter protest in the jaw of the dragon.
