What this story doesn't recount is that the dead man has been involved in two shootings in thepast. He shot a man after losing a bet on a pool game and he exchanged shots with a Seattle P.D. officer during a traffic stop. The officer wasn't shot in that case and he was hit (three times I think).

It might be interesting to know why the paper neglected to add this to their story but reminds us every article that the officer is white.

I think the line at the gun shop just got longer.

I just realized I attributed this to the Seatlle PI newspaper when it is the seattle times. The link is correct. Can you fix this without deleting the whole thread?

was just the first of several "surprise strategic strikes" aimed at changing the way law enforcement views black men,

Yep, tying up traffic, angering thousands of motorists, causing more headaches for officers, and screeching about how racist everyone is will change people's opinions, alright.

Threatening to riot really increases my opinion of people.

Also, why is it that when one black man gets shot by cops, the whole community is in an uproar, but three hundred get shot by other blacks and all they care about is protecting the shooters from the system?

Miller, who is white, said he fired because Thomas aimed a gun in his direction when he approached.

I assume that Thomas was indeed armed since they failed to continue and say whether he was or was not. Now why would they leave that important detail out? I am sure if he was NOT armed it would have been a major part of the story.

The protest march on Interstate 5 that plugged up southbound rush-hour traffic for almost an hour yesterday was just the first of several "surprise strategic strikes" aimed at changing the way law enforcement views black men, African-American leaders said.

Somehow I don't think that random acts of lawlessness are going to change the way law enforcement views black me.

"Do you remember the Rodney King riots?"

What do you think?

Where was the march for Chris Kime held? I must have missed that one. By the way; doesn't Seattle have any snow plows?

I believe the gun was stolen, but yes he was armed.

This all hinges (legally) on whether he said he was a cop. Of course a convicted felon's not allowed to have gun but if the cop didn't say who he was (he was in his civilian clothes and off duty) then the dead man would be justified in pointing a weapon at someone pointing a gun at him.

This is where the Rodney King thing is really pertinent. I'm white (no bad experiences with the police other than them being jerks at the shooting range when they are all there at the same time) and I assume the cop is telling the truth about identifying himself.

The Black community assumes he is a racist executioner of innocent (two strike felon, 2x prior a shooter) black men.

By the way, "Pastor" Braxton...can you PLEASE point out the portion of Scripture that sanctions this unruly, disruptive nonsense? Thanks in advance!

""If the verdict comes back that this was a justified homicide, that will be the spark that will ignite this powder keg," Mack said. When asked to elaborate later, he said, "Do you remember the Rodney King riots?""

And, if a riot happens, could'nt Mack be charged with incitment based on the above statement?

Yes. Pissing off the local commuters isn't going to win any friends or change any minds.

Well riots should change that

And Mack was ticked off when after the Aaron Roberts shooting the police threatened to stop being aggressive enforcers in his neighborhood.

So let me get this straight: They act like hoodlums to prove that they shouldn't be treated like hoodlums.

It would seem that black churches have stopped being religious in nature, and have turned into hotbeds of racial protests and potential rioting. Will the left say anything about the black churches as they did about white churches that talking about organizing for voting purposes? Again, when will the whites begin sticking up for themselves?
