This is HorseHillary, too. Beyond the obvious question of "WHY would a reserve SF unit be associated in any way with a civilian who claimed to have been a SEAL,when they can just go ahead and send their guys to the dive school?",the reporter needs to know that NO Army unit has the authority to award a Sailor a medal for heroism or anything else. This is especially true of a reserve unit.

Maybe. There are way too many people faking military careers as cooks. They MUST be busted!!! One easy way to bust them is to ask anyone who boasts of having been a military cook to cook up an order of SOS.
I drove a truck in the army - it was a GAZ. And a couple of APC's, the BMP-2 and BTR-60PB. And, uh, a tank - a T-62.
Through it all, I always had a Makarov at my belt, and a Dragonov by my side.
I gotta tell you though, that BRDM was a piece of junk.
"Take all you want, but eat all you take."
Which army? (I know what a GAZ is...)

Yeah, there are a couple of ways to go about this. Either contact Harpseal or Travis McGee right here on FR (both were SEALS),or go to the URL below and look at the links. There are links there to every military Spec Ops organization, and the guys who maintain those links will be more than happy to clear this up for you. Thanks to the internet, there is no way to get away with faking stuff like this anymore. SF,Rangers,SEALS,Air Commandoes, and USMC Force Recon all take this VERY seriously.

Some of these guys are such good liars they even convince THEMSELVES. One case was even reported on tv of a con man who had convinced his wife that he was a former astronaut and CIA agent, and that he was a surgeon. Guess what? He actually faked the documentation, and was doing surgery at a local hospital! No complaints, either. He not only didn't graduate medical school, but if I remember right,he didn't even graduate from college. He learned about surgery from reading books!

Let me introduce you to my daughter, not an ex SEAL, just an ex Gunner's Mate/Guns. My son Robert, USAF, radar technician.
I'm equally proud of them for their service to the country.
Not really. I let the USMC take care of their own phonies. They are much better equipped to do this than I am,and they take this REAL seriously.
Not that I know of,but you might want to check police records and mental hospital records. Every army cook I ever met was as crazy as a rabid rat,and meaner than hell. Not QUITE as paranoid as supply sgts, but close.
