I'm in favor of idiots not throwing around wards like totalitarian and terrorist because they don't agree with something.I think people who are unable to see a totalitarian are a special brand of idiot. Especially when they keep telling you that it is what they are.

Newsmedia? You think? In a mere 25 years homosexuals have gotten homosexuality removed from the DSM, have most of the Fortune 500 companies, and several localities offering domestic partners benefits, actual "civil unions" in Vermont, a Republican president who appoints openly gay men to ambassadorships and high-level positions within his cabinet, and the impending passage of the "Employment Non-Discrimination Act" in Congress. Moreover, most of the top-rated shows on TV now feature gay characters, and poll after poll conducted by Zogby, Gallup and others confirm a level of acceptance for homosexuals unheard of.

Let me see, the country has advance notice of this demo. It's all over the net. Duh! Do we think the kids don't know in advance. And of course if the kids know, the parents would never find out.
If you have a group attacking or sneaking up on your school, may I suggest you form a perimeter around the next board meeting. If you want kids to not be silent, you will not stop them. Only they and their parents can do it. Wake up and smell the coffee.

The person misusing the word and perverting the language in some transparent attempt to rally the troops is the bigger idiot.

The children involved in this protest are already lost to the cause. If they're participating in this kind of activity they've been indoctrinated a looong time ago. In some cases they even have parental support. Let them have their "Day of Silence" and see how far it gets them.

....even compiling a list of teachers, students and administrators who might oppose their efforts. ....and they will do what with this list?........Send a special squad of budding interior decorators to their homes, where upon the arrival, they will make sneering comments regarding color schemes?.......
........why does the idea of children being instructed to compile lists of people, to 'identify' people who are against some agenda bother me, hmmmm?.........does it bother you?
To: Salvation
NEA + Dumbed down Public School curriculum + Socialist indoctrination/re-engineering + Homosexual agenda = a poisoned future America of dumb, robotic, unprincipled moral relativists, and thus the end days of the Republic as we know it.
To: breakem
I haven't misused any words at all.........the tactics of such groups like GLSEN and those like them are positively totalitarian at times............think 'political correctness'..........this concept is Orwellian to the rotten core, but apparently you can't see that.......
To: breakem
I think you have me confused with someone else because I agree with all you stated except the part about the month of silence. They deserve no time at all. The advancement of the gay agenda doesn't belong in the schools, effectively sanctioned by the schools, ever. This promotion of the gay agenda does not belong with our children. They are attempting to desensitize the population through our impressionable children.
To: Brad's Gramma
Who cares why they're quiet? The point is they're being quiet. This isn't a distraction for other students. In some cases it will be a relief.

What do you think, a totalitarian goes around saying, 'well I'm a rights stomping totalitarian, everybody'.....of course not.
It's always couched in carefully selected terms and sloganeering. 'It's for the people', or 'I will liberate you from (fill in the blank); they don't emphasize how they are going to steal your rights, indeed it's usually quite the opposite......."I'm here to make sure the people are made free from blank", that sort of nonsense. This is the same tactic liberals use today. They are no different.
To: irksome1
Sad? Look, I
know you and I won't agree on many aspects of this issue, but maybe we can agree on this much:
Having a group of political activists shut up for a day does nothing. They can't win anyone over to their side if they can't speak. Let these fools flatter themselves into thinking that they're "striking a blow for GBLT equality," and enjoy the silence. Sueing organizations over prostests like this is extremely foolish and has the potential to look aggressively reactionary.

What just happened ?
To: in the Arena
Please explain.......I'm not sure what you are asking.....
To: Thane_Banquo
Sad, isn't it? What are we going to do about the infiltration of this illness into our schools? We really have to support vouchers and give parents a way to get their kids out from under the tyranny of the so-called professionals. I don't know what else we can do about it. The sickness is so intrenched that firing a few people will do nothing. We must somehow find an alternative. Any ideas out there?

....but I would guess that what happened was yet another rights protecting group asking people to be silent; also if anybody opposes this silence, they want names.
To: He Rides A White Horse
Is that what breakum was about ? Was he for or against the day of silence ? I couldn't tell what his point was.
