Spousal abuse doesn't get nearly the respect from law enforcement that it needs to...women are scared to speak out (I know, my sister was one) and abusive spouses don't admit they have a problem. They need to throw them in jail the 1st time a 911 call comes in! Next time, throw the key away! For many women, there IS no next time!

I'm all for locking up Alec Baldwin and all theother abusers. But Baldwin first.

wife beater, schmife beater. That is just rumor. All we really know is that he is hot tempered and a little aggressive. What kind of physical injuries she has sustained, and the details involved, we will never really know.

I've unfortunately been the victim of spousal abuse. It's more complicated than people think. The constant degrading that goes on causes the wife to almost feel she deserves the treatment because her husband has made her feel that it is all her fault...Being around someone who feeds you "You are worthless, you deserve this," etc....causes a woman not to speak up. Also, fear of being killed is another reason. This happened to me 18 years ago and there just weren't the programs out there that there are now. I've come a long way since then...I don't tolerate anyone mistreating me anymore.
