On the other hand, Israeli left-wing liberals find nothing wrong with co-signing a "covenant" with a Jew like Brigadier General (res.) Effi Eitam, who called the Palestinians a "cancer in the body of the nation." The fact that the Nazis were especially fond of this metaphor is probably not lost on the general.
By the same token, the women members of "Kapowatch" - the response of the rightist Women in Green to "Machsomwatch," which was set up to observe the behavior of Israeli soldiers at checkpoints in the West Bank - know what a "kapo" is. The kapos were Jews who acted as police for the Nazis in the death camps (although in the end most of them were also murdered).
And what crime did the women who watch the checkpoints commit to be thus branded? "They are a group of traitors from the extreme left," wrote Nadia Matar, the leader of Women in Green to her colleagues last week. She urged them to stand up against "the anti-Israeli organization that supports the enemy under the guise of being a human rights organization that wants to ensure that the soldiers are nice to the Arabs...."

Jews, it seems, are allowed everything. That includes the liberty of likening Jews to Israel's worst enemies, while at the same time whining about those who liken Jews to Israel's worst enemies. They can foment a disturbance against the playing of Wagner as an encore to those in the audience who want to stay and hear it. They can also shrug off as a "technical mistake" an army officer's order to write numbers on the arms of Palestinian prisoners.

Thanks for the ping, Phil, but this is even worse than the stuff you usually post. Ha'aretz must be pulling drunks -- or tenured professors -- off the street to write their copy. The writer is trying to link, via insinuation, every vague charge of discrimination he can come up with, to support his implicit charge that, "See, Jews can be Nazis, too!"

I had already read the KAPOWATCH report, and I applaud it. What is wrong with that the "women in green" are doing? They are merely giving Machsomwatch a dose of their own medicine; the Machsomwatchers are gagging on it.

Let's be clear: Machsomwatch is not a "human rights" organization; it is a PLO front. Indeed, "human rights" and "humanitarian" are code words for "PLO front." None of hthese groups are concerned with Arab atrocities.

And calling Machsomwatchers "traitors" is not hyperbole. The Israeli checkpoint soldiers are sitting ducks; many have been massacred by terrorists. Anything that handcuffs them, in doing their jobs, puts them that much closer to death. The Machsomwatchers are well aware of this, and have done nothing to protect the Israeli soldiers, nor have they protested the massacres. Indeed, I am convinced that the Machsomwatchers privately celebrate every murderous ambush of Israeli soldiers. They are traitors in the classic sense of giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

For the record, I have no problem with camp survivors having lynched former kapos. In fact, I am gladdened to hear of it. (I had earlier read accounts of the killing, in the night, via asphyxiation, of camp inmates who had helped the Nazis.) Now, if the report were of MISTAKEN killings of innocents, I would be deeply shaken. But killing the right people? Those who would demonize the execution of the guilty, have signed up with the party of evil, and are hostile to the demands of justice for the dead.

Ah, but "humanitarians" will say, "Two wrongs do not make a right!" To them I say, What was the second wrong? Killing murderers is what justice is all about; letting them go unpunished is an abomination.
