JOINING THE RUSH-LED CHORUS ON DUB
I'm reading a Time magazine Reporters' Notebook column and I tell you, I could have written this piece. Is this not amazing? The Boston Globe also has a column on Bush going along with so much of the Democrat agenda, suggesting it's for 2004, not 2002 as is the conventional wisdom. George Will has a column on this same topic, asking why Bush is giving in. Bill Bennett and Charles Krauthammer are also going the same way.
So I think some of you who have been telling me to shut up about my criticism of Bush have a lot of other people to write and tell to shut up. You might want to call or write and ask them to be quiet, because there seems to be a growing chorus of criticism. Yeah, I know, I started it. Is that right? Oh, I'm the one that paved the way? Yeah, yeah, it's my fault. I gave everybody the "go" sign. I made it okay for everybody to ask why the president has stopped pushing his agenda during the war, when, say, FDR pushed the New Deal through during WWII.
It's always going to fall back to me. I'm going to be the one responsible for it all happening since I'm the point man. I led off. But is Time magazine taking cues from me? I mean, they've written the same story that I've been doing since the stimulus package days, and it's quite illustrative of things. There are quite a few of these stories out there that are examining the political strategery of the Bush White House on the domestic agenda side versus the war side, and examining how they're doing and what they're doing and what it's all aimed at.
I just want to prepare you for it, because I know a lot of you think that there's been too much criticism here. We even read that the Democrats are emboldened, and will ask for even more money to buy votes. They know the president won't spend his political capital! This is frustrating, because you hear people saying Bush can do no wrong, so he should do what's right!
I know Bush is trying to get a workable majority in Congress, but this acting defensively to take issues away from the Democrats is not the way to do it. Even those "normal people" on the Jerry Springer Show, an e-mailer tells me, cheer Bush during the show. That's probably scripted, but there it is. They know it!
In fact, we could even make a slogan: Normal People Prefer Bush. He has gravitas, folks! He is adored and loved and can both fight the war and push a domestic agenda at the same time. There's no reason not to do that when he has all this backing him up.

Explain to me how the veto is the only way to uphold the Constitution.

"but is he a million times better than Gore?" Yes, without a shred of doubt.

I now chuckle at your definition of "intense enthusiasm."

And now we have Bush Care Friend you have lost all sense of reality. I must have missed the "Bush Care" bill". As to "homeland defense" it is a valid organization that brings several non-cooperating agencies under one management structure. You don't like it and think there is no need for it but....who cares?
To: Howlin
Well that is it! When you show up then anyone who wishes to keep any sanity gets going. Have a nice night.

The rat trap arrived via Enron. The rat trap shut when the House and the Senate voted and passed it. They are to blame, each and every one that voted for this. Now that the trap is well under way, the way out is a VETO.
What the rats did not think, was President Bush would be so popular as long as he has. Which is why Rush has it right, Bush walks on water and American people will be glad he vetoed it. He has to start telling the people why it is so bad and over and over and he has to do it now. He should remember what happened to Pickering, by waiting so long.
The veto would do the rats in. I do agree with Rush.

That would be a very interesting thread. I think I'd pop some pop corn, call some friends to come over and then watch the carnage unfold on my computer screen. ;-)

It seems to drive you crazy when somebody asks you for FACTS to back up your bogus claims.

I get along with most everybody, except people who distort the facts, whichever side they are on.
Notice how much it bothers them when you ask them for some proof.

Scary for me is if this is the real him, not just him being political to gain a senate majority and a second term. What if this is the real GWB? Not that he isn't a million times better than X42, but is he a million times better than Gore? He should slap himself across the face a few times and shake himself out of what he's gotten himself into and get back to the conservative business of righting this crooked immoral sinking ship that Clinton and company built. Now, that's an interesting question. What is really worse, X42 crooked and smart, or would be #42 crooked and dense or is that dunce?

The veto would do the rats in.
Which is the second most critical reason why the President should veto the CFR bill. There really should be no pecking order of justifications for a President to take his veto pen to unconstitutional legislation, but here we have a President with approval ratings that not even Ronald Reagan could claim. Not even his own father following the Persian Gulf War had it this secure in the palm of his hand. He could scribble his who are these fools and from under which ground do they burrow across this bill, spell out in plain language precisely why this bill deserves his veto, and then let it be known that any successful override exposes this Congress as standing athwart the clear enough language and intent of the First Amendment, standing deliberately and consciously athwart the Supreme Law of The Land, as in what part of Congress shall make no law...abridging freedom of speech did they not understand.
