I also STRONGLY recommend letters to the editor of local newspapers. I submitted one to the Arizona Republic the other day and they said they are considering it. Now that the vote is official, its time for another one!

Mine went through and I got the auto-response back. Like you said, hopefully it just means they are getting bombarded!

I think Bush thinks he loses if he doesn't sign. The truth is, the media has him in a checkmate on this one. If he signs, it's a "read my lips" moment, if he doesn't, he favors corruption.

Then spell it out for the fine lurkers here. I do not believe Bush will veto it. He is in McCain's pocket.

Remember the Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF)'s Black Web Site campaign, when Congress threatened to crackdown on Internet content (i.e., censorship)? One could cynically ask where are they and the ACLU are when CFR actually does threaten free speach via the Internet, but let's look beyond that obvious double standard liberal free speech advocates employ to further unstated agendas.

Maybe we should instead turn our web site backgrounds to red. Red would both denote our anger about Congress attempting to legislate away our Constitutional right to free (political) speech, but also to be a not so subtle reference to the communist tactics used to userp our capitalist marketplace for political communications. It also brings to mind the blood shed by our troops to secure our right to free speech. And of course red has a psychological effect of inducing passion and tension.

And here is our poster boy to tell 'em what they can do with CFR.

A photo of the Capital building with a red tint might be and interesting ploy too.

Can anyone post a link to the classic HPD sound clip?

Bush is known for creative solutions. He has the power to pardon any and all for any and all offenses past or present. He can sign the bill along with a blanket pardon on any parts of the bill that he believes are unconsitutional.

Check and mate. The part of the bills that favor GOP is enacted and the parts that favor Rats are declawed.

I think he will let it go through knowing that it never will stand up in court. He then will look good to reformers while not loosing anything.

Look good? Won't lose anything? How about credibility and trust. During the primaries he said that this bill was unconstitutional. He took the oath of office declaring to uphold the constitution. Doesn't an oath mean anything anymore? Or has everyone succumbed to the Clinton mentality.

Is it not better to do what is right and take the consequence (if there really is a consequence to this)?

It was the grassroots and groups such as the NRA that saved this election - saved his butt. If he signs this he's lost the base. This is political suicide, in my opinion.

If he truly is a Conservative that believes in the Constitution he will veto this crap without me contacting him. Sorry to say, but to me this is like telling someone how to wipe themselves.

There is no way I could have stated this better.
