Hi, Meek. Wasn't there a similar incident last year, where an honor student (girl this time I think) was expelled and didn't get to graduate with her class because of some kind of kitchen knife or something like that she had left in her car?

As the Senate destroys our Constitution today with the Campaign Finance Reform Bill. This may be my last chance to speak with freedom, so I would like to wish everyone a Happy Spring!

Beautiful graphic, 4TheFlag!
Is there still snow on the ground up in your part of the country?
I just picked up our photos from Ground Zero. There are some good ones. When I have time (in a day or two......finals to grade), I'll try to scan them and post them.

To: Diver Dave
Hi, Dave! It's dreary here - jealous of your 72 degrees and sunshine!

Great story, DL. The link has an extra double quote at the end, and isn't opening.
If y'all want to read about Harold from the 1255th Engineers and his flag, edit DL's link or

Thanks, HTML still gives me a hard time.

It was an honors student in Florida, and the incident threatened her scholarship and attendance at Gulf States University.
The dean of admissions at GSU had to cancel her scholarship, but...
He told her to show up anyway, he'd figure out a way make up for her Principal's unbending stupidity!

Have a nice nap, Severa. It is always nice to see your cheery posts.
We have followed the USS Roosevelt from time to time here at the Canteen and quite a bit at the Guild as the Guild sent numerous care packages to them. They did a great job on their deployment and then had there deployment extended because the USS Kennedy did not pass inspection. I know you folks will give them a joyous reception on their return and look forward to your account of it.

Loved your graphic and then clicked on it - very clever. Thanks.

Oh, please tell the folks on the USS Theodore Roosevelt hello and THANK YOU! Many of us on the Guild thread sent packages to them at Christmas. The packages included letters and pictures from children, Christmas stockings, socks, hats, etc. I know some people sent stuff before and after Christmas too. We are so proud of the men and women on the USS Theodore Roosevelt as well as all of the other men and women serving our country.

Thank you. I enjoyed your post too.
I'm just really on edge today waiting to see if Bush signs the CFR Bill. If he does that could change the way I look at him and really I don't want that to happen!

Good Morning..I have a tip for you and it is this:
When gardening, do not wear a dress...LOL...
