I think we need to remind the French about:

1) their record of success during the last two world wars,
2) the amount of U.S. tourism dollars spent in an average year,
3) the amount of U.S. foreign aid sent to France in an average year,
4) the amount of French imports brought into the U.S. during an average year, and
5) the fact that the the last time the world considered France a superpower, their Navy was using wooden ships.

So as not to go the way of Doris Kearns Goodwin, I have to give credit to my boss, CG, for the above items.
