All else is futile chaff or worse, "enhancement" of the problem.
"Missing the mark" of perfection (literal origin of "sin") in the direction of homosexuality is merely a less socially acceptable, less comfortable, more offensive variety of the malady common to all of us. Sometimes we Believers fail to acknowledge that even to ourselves. We believer our imperfections are somehow more sanitized from God's view. But His view is that he who fails in the least point of the law is guilty of all of it.
As a shrink, I would attest that the research regarding homosexuality when fairly and carefully examined merely asserts that there MAY be at most a 10-20% predisposition toward--a tendency toward homosexuality. The behavioral, emotional, psychological, spiritual syndrome seems to be overwhelmingly an environmentally conditioned one.
And, like all of us--whether over eating, drinking too much alcohol, workaholism, perfectionism, rage-aholism, chronic arrogance or self-righteousness; selfishness, compulsive masturbation; compulsive sexual conquests; . . . the list is more or less endless . . . in each case, each behavior is a moment by moment CHOICE. Repeated performance in a given direction literally strengthens and enlarges the nerve pathways in that direction. But choice is still choice.
And God is willing and able to provide a way of escape away from all manner of temptation. Of course, TV, advertising and cultural pressures may be a different matter. . . especially given the wholesale sell-outs to the demon served "god" of this world soon to experience his legally defeated state. I wouldn't encourage the choice of joining him.
