Good grief. After what the Florida Supreme Court put us through in 2000, I can hardly see the scandal in appointing a Christian to one Florida court. There's no question she's qualified and fair.

I thought that was what we wanted in judges.

[The DU...hopes the Senate Dems block every single one of GB's judical appointments -- as some kind of payback for the past delays of Clinton's appontments..."

Their brethen is succeeding so far, because the Dems aren't really interested in moving the legal process through. Only in subverting justice and the "system".

And nevermind the GOP approved Clinton Administration and judiciary nominees that made the characters (Reno, Elders, Shalala etal.) at that Star Wars bar scene look normal. But so would the mutants onboard the DU.

Thanks for the post.

Yeah, Broward, that's where Florida's leftists are!

Great choice. She has my vote!

That denial of an opportunity even for a floor vote with a committee negative report to the floor was outrageous. Pure politics from the lefties. They went further than usual here, making ideology the only and clear litmus test. Agree with their PC views or be denied. Unfortunately, it looks like they will get away with it. I hope the President sticks to his principles and appoints another conservative rather than bending to find a PC candidate.

Also, Gov. Bush appointed a highly qualified black woman who happened to be the first black woman in Polk County appointed to the bench.

There was an article in some newspaper today saying that GW intends to keep on sending conservative judicial appointees....so, who knows... the one they were all talking about on some news show is a conservative Hispanic male....it will kinda tough when Dem leaders oppose this guy.

I assume she's conservative, and that would absolutely infuriate the Dems.

I heard a fair amount about the nominee you mentioned last night. One version of the "demo-blocking" I heard speculated about says the Dems will simply appoint a bunch of other people - less controversial in their view, and "not get to" the gentleman you mentioned. They will then claim they moved nominess and ran out of time. No end to the games....
