I guess most of us knew this, but a lot of our kind didn't. Gotta be a special place in hell for the likes of johnson and kissenger, their ilk and their minions.

Yeah but people are hooked on the silly notion that "the lessor of the two evils" should be elected. Silly, yes. Foolish, indeed. You see evil is evil and a "lessor" degree of evil is STILL EVIL. Shhhh don't tell that to the sheeple. They might begin to THINK and STRAIGHTEN UP before it is too late. I believe it is too late.

Shhhh don't tell that to the sheepleGod refers to His as sheep, the jennings of this world have made us think that 'Sheep People', Sheeple' are bad, they have been so good at it, that we now use the term ourselves in a derogatory manner.

"...People are still hooked on the silly notion that the 'lesser of two evils' should be elected. .... evil is evil and the lesser evil is STILL EVIL..."
And so you would vote for ...? The *greater* of two evils? Not vote? And thereby effectively remove yourself from the political community, so that your views no longer need to be considered?

There is no differance between the likes of susan collins (R) Maine and ted kennedy (D) Massachusetts. To sit out the upcoming election in Maine, even if that means the democrat wins, sends a clear message to the Republican party of Maine, we, the one percent, will not vote for a left wing liberal baby killing clinton supporting republican any faster than we will a left wing baby killing democrat.
If the R's want our votes, let them give us candidates we can support, ones that are Pro-Christ, pro-life and pro-Constitution.
Many of us are now comitted to nolonger voting for the lesser of the two evils. I voted for neither Bush nor Gore, nor did my wife and many of our friends. Had President Bush convinced the pro-life community that he would work to save the lives of babies in the womb, there would have been no need for the recount after recount.
Yu will now ask if we would have been happy if gore had been elected. To that I would say no, but, I still would not walk across the street to votre for George Walker Bush the second.
In the last year of the clinton regime, 1,700,000 US babies were slaughtered int eh womb. In the first year of the Bush regime, 1,700,000 babies were slaughtered in the womb.
A man who will not do all in his power to stop the murder of a baby in the womb, will not raise a finger to help me. If a man is so stupid that he doesn't realize that that little guy in the womb is a baby, then he is to stupid for me to vote for.

We haven't had a true candidate for office since before I was born. Sad. but true. At fifty eight, I can not think of one candeidate, who was elected, that put the nation and the Constitution first. Or even had it on their agenda.

"If the R[epublicans]want our vote, then let them give us candidates we can support..."
"We haven't had a true candidate for office since before I was born."
And what have *you* done about it? Have you volunteered to work for a candidate? Have you run for office yourself?
Neither party is going to "give" you anything. You have to work for it. And in politics that means delivering votes. (Don't give me the line about money trumping votes either; money is wanted because it buys votes)
You want to influence the Party (either the GOP, The Democrats, the Reform, the Libertarian, whatever)? Get active in it. If you don't vote, they don't care what you say. Shoot! They won't even hear what you say, if you are not out there talking to the people who make up the party at the local level.

"...I assume you are a blind, party hack."
You can assume whatever you want. If you have any idea that your assumptions are somehow representative of the truth, you only display your ignorance.

another interesting fact about vietnam is that if our troops hadn't been there during that time, then Thailand, Malaysia & Singapore would've been taken by the communists instead of merely Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos. They took half of southeast asia. Without us there they would've gotten all of it. That was the conclusion of the Thai military people & other military observers at the time. While our troops were in nam the thais built enough strength to avoid being over-run.
But I'm with you all the way Alas, we need to vote for honest people, not just for a particular party. I live in AZ. The republicans dominate arizona. They have done an absolutely terrible job the last few years at handling money. Any self-respecting citizen in my opinion should vote straight democrat in 2002 in AZ because of it. That's how we have to behave in my view. Throw the bums out frequently. Be willing to cross party lines. Throw the liberal Republican out even if it means putting a liberal dem in because next time you'll at least have a chance to get a real conservative.
