Oh, I see: so it WAS a spy operation after all -- and this from an unimpeachable source.

I rest my case.....

"Rumors" that something "may" have happened based on the "possibility" that the US and Israel have engaged in joint espionage activities in the past are not "proof" of anything. Except to those who believe in conspiracies and rumors. Hard facts are required by real thinkers.

Thers is not one shred of evidence in even this article, from a Liberal Jewish source, that any of these art students were spies. Just an unnamed source musing that such could be true because the US and Israel have conducted operations before, which I hope is true, since Israel has important information about Islamic dirtydoings in the Middle East and here. Good for the USA and Israel. Allies should stick together.

Pray tell...where in this article does it say it WAS a spy operation? Just more speculation...

PS - this is interesting::

Sources emphasized that the release of all the Israelis under investigation indicates that they were cleared of any suspicion that they had prior knowledge of the September 11 attacks, >>>>>>as some anti-Israel media outlets have suggested.

Didn't you claim this - at your website? Since this is an 'unimpeachable source' will you now recant that charge?

Poor Veronica. Like the comic book character from which her name is taken, she's so self-involved that she can't see the forest for the trees. Maybe you're dyslexic, but the article -- although there is a "spin" -- admits the basic truth of what I've been saying since November: "Despite angry denials by Israel and its American supporters, reports that Israel was conducting spying activities in the United States may have a grain of truth, the Forward has learned." Oh, but a grain is enough: indeed, it's more than enough, because now even the Forward is acknowledging what any child could've told them, that:

"...the incidents in question appear to represent a case of Israelis in the United States spying on a common enemy, radical Islamic networks suspected of links to Middle East terrorism."

"Common enemy" blah blah blah -- yeah, we get it, guys: They were watching those Ay-rabs the whole damn time, and they knew -- knew in advance -- what they were up to. And, guess what? -- they didn't tell us.

Over 3,000 died.

And they didn't tell us....

Poor Veronica. What a letdown this must be for you. But, really, things were getting much too hot to keep up the pretense that there was nothing to this story. They had to admit to at least something.

Now please tell me the Forward is "anti-Semitic." That's what I just can't wait to hear.....

MAY...have.

Need a dictionary, to look up the word may? But you did not address this::>>>>Sources emphasized that the release of all the Israelis under investigation indicates that they were cleared of any suspicion that they had prior knowledge of the September 11 attacks, >>>>>>as some anti-Israel media outlets have suggested.

The Forward is not anti-Semitic, but it is Liberal. Sorry Justin. Still no proof, just speculation based on gusts of maybe. :)

Of course, the Israelis have an active intelligence network in the US. Always have had. Also of course, our services work with them, and against them, from time to time.

It's not like the commie spies in days of yore. It's more like the love-hate intel thing we have going on with the UK. When they don't play nice, we throw them out of the schoolyard. Like it or not, the Mossad is a big player in the world intel major league... that is, our league. Like any other country more or less aligned with us, the Mossad has been helpful from time to time ... and not so helpful at other times. Believe me, the intel services keep pretty good score on each other.

The important thing is are we getting any good stuff from them? I really can't blame the Israelis for wanting to run their own show when Clinton was in power. He seems to have disregarded a lot of good info and done the Israelis quite a bit of harm in the bargain.

Climate is a bit different, now. But not to worry, they'll be back.

"Anti-Israel" outlets -- like Fox News? <<>>

And of course the FBI is denying all -- the Israelis were doing THEIR job, but where were the feds? They didn't have a clue. The Bureaucratic Imperative: cover yer butt!

But then there's no need to explain this well-known principle to you, now is there, Veronica darling? You're a conservative -- why, even the Forward is too liberal for ya!

"Anti-Israel" outlets -- like Fox News?

Fox News is fair and balanced...most of the time. Of course Fox also puts on the air some questionable stuff:: Paula Jones wrestling Tonya Harding for one (LOL) and Geraldo (I wanna hug Clinton) for another. You know it drives some people nuts that Israel and the US are so tight. So be it!! This story is officially dead. That is a fact. And I don't much stock in what-ifs and maybes, when it comes to news, so it was dead to me from day one.

It's baaaAAAAAaack again--this time from a liberal source, so of course the wingnuts put great credibility in it.

Ooops, make that "crackpot." That how Justine was described in opinionjournal.com, wasn't it?

The story is officially dead."

Veronica, the Official Coroner of American -- nay, international -- journalism, has spoken. Why do you think the Bush administration is denying Israel that "extra" $800 mil? And suddenly proposing a UN resolution endorsing a Palestinian state? And barring "foreign nationals" (i.e. Israelis) from "sensitive" jobs? Better save that Christmas card you told us you got from the Prez -- you'll soon be using it for a dart-board. And, as for me, all I can say is: Go, Dubya, go!
