They now have my 2 cents...about the same amount of revenue they will get from the Dozen Moms who file 1040EZ if at all.

Oh gosh, and us never giving a dime to Block because we use TurboTax and all.... :o)

"... to educate the company on the extremist positions
that the NRA has taken in the pastI'm sure this was the usual litany of lies about
cop killer bullets, udetectable plastic guns,
gun shows (tupperware parties for criminals),
the selling of machine guns to toddlers and
whatever other nonsense they could fabricate.

Time to dunp H&R Block. Yeah. We used them for quite a few years but just last month decided to use a local EA to prepare out returns. He's a lot more knowledgeable and a bit cheaper, and closer to the house to boot.
Maybe I'll tell them I left because of their decision. It won't be true but they won't know that.

Is there a national service that is 2A friendly? Anybody had any experience with Jackson Hewitt?

Smith & Wesson can testify to the wrath of the gun community. Maybe Block will be next.

With TurboTax, H&R Block should qualify for protection under the Endangered Species Act. Who in the world would go to some schlub who hasn't a clue when he could just as well use a well designed software program that does a better job? TurboTax is an amazing product, and those who haven't tried it should.
This bonehead decision caving to the gun-grabbers should merely hasten H&R Block's demise.

I added my real name and info except for my phone number. Remember to select marketing and h&r block corp in the feilds to send you message to on the contact page.
Hello Today I learned that you severed ties with the NRA because of pressure from gun control groups. I read about your company working with the NRA and I was going to have you work on my taxes because I support the NRA and companies that support it. Now you will not get my support in the way of useing you to fillout my tax return. I also was thinking about doing some investing with your firm as well. I have 45,220.00 in capital sitting in a bank account doing nothing for me because of low intrest rates. With you working with the NRA I thought about investing most of it with your firm. Not now NOT EVER. I will be kind to pass along your position on firearms to members of my family, friends, co-workers and anyone else I know that deals with H&R Block and supports the NRA with their membership and money.
This is a better letter then just screaming about firearms and the rights we have. Remeber if you use the form email it to marketing and H&R block company.

You mean, like this...
Sirs,
I can't tell you how sad I was to hear the Brady's and the Million Mom gloating over your killing the NRA co-marketing deal.
I thought H&R would appreciate the Constitution, and the Second Ammendment. I'm hoping you don't think the NRA is an extremist organization like the gun grabbers say.
Regardless, I will be looking for someone else to do my taxes that appreciates America.
You guys should have checked with Dell or Smith & Wesson before pissing on the people who believe in the 2nd Ammendment.

I called my local H&R shop and the woman on the phone was nearly in tears. She kept saying that they were just a franchise. I told her she should reconsider who she does business with, or, call the home office and complain.

That's a shame... Perhaps they could independently offer something to NRA members.
SAS has sent out an alert already.

I will not patronize H & R Block! I didn't patronize them before, but now I will doubly not patronize them!

Thanks for the email addresses. My letter:
To whom it may concern:
I wish to express my strong displeasure with your corporate decision to sever you relationship with the National Rifle Association as reported by Gun Industry Watch. As a Life Member of the National Rifle Association and longtime supporter of our Constitutional rights, I was gratified at your corporations courageous stand in support of the Bill of Rights, and had planned on retaining H&R Block for my tax needs.
Please be advised that under no circumstances will I now knowingly patronize any aspect of your organization, and that a great number of my fellow Americans are of a similar opinion. Your stance has been publicized on numerous Internet discussion sites, and I am certain that the displeasure with your week-kneed corporate response to a minority of malcontents will not stand your organization in good stead among a sizeable potential market of affluent firearms enthusiasts and supporters of the National Rifle Association (an organization with over four million dues paying annual and life members).
Regards,
*******
