To all those out there thinking Hillary! will run in 2004: you may be right, but I'm holding off on that until after her book comes out.

I'm not so sure she's going to get the rave reviews that she needs as a springboard for 2004. Complicating her task will be the subsequent publishing of Bill's book. They're going to have to be very careful to make sure their stories are in agreement.

So, if Hillary doesn't get the nod in 2004, it will be just as difficult, if not more so, for 2008. She will be in her 60's, and I think we can agree that she has not aged very gracefully. Can you imagine another six years of that crusty black pant suit on display?

I'd say John Kerry's got the inside track, mainly due to the money that he's been stockpiling, and the money he married. Plus, he's not Algore.

I'm looking forward to 2003 - the more, the merrier!

Shortness of stature isn't really an issue for the Dems: in '88 they teamed VP candidate and tall Texan Lloyd Bentsen with presidential contender and miniature Masshole Michael Dukakis. Of course they lost, but it wasn't his lack of height that killed Dukakis at the polls. After all, on TV everybody is the same height.

Will Hillary run? Watch for her official filing here. Nothing yet for 2004, but she DID file Presidential candidacy papers for 2000. This is where the rubber hits the road.

I see what you mean, but Reich is significantly more stature challenged than Dukakis. I can imagine those "group 8" photo ops staged with all participants seated - just like they did with FDR to camoflage his poilo.

From where I stand the Dem short list for president looks like:

1. Daschle
2. Reisch
3. Albright

Hillery / Sharpton and Tom Daschel / Maxine Waters would be alot of fun to watch.
