If people think that this was just a simple case of child abduction by a closet pedophile, they're crazy. Swinging seems dangerous to me. Especially if you have a room in your house specially reserved for this activity. These people were bringing home people ... strangers .... to their own home for " fun ". Hey, if you wanna swing, at least be smart about it and either rent a motel room for the night's activities or do it in another town where no one knows you ! Maybe this tip is true ... it's entirely possible that DW was a part of their swing group and the VD's decided to exclude him for whatever reasons. Maybe he decided to exact revenge. Maybe more people in that neighborhood were involved in the swing club than people know. Who knows what goes on behind people's closed doors ...

I can't say one way or another but I don't find her to be a very sympathetic character.

I know that is not what you want to hear, but I'm not going to pretend differently.

I'm terribly sorry for what happened to Danielle. I'm also sorry for these parents to the extent that they may be their own worse enemy and for their loss as well.

I do not believe that the stories of their lifestyle are made up out of thin air. Since I do believe there is most likely truth to them, I am suspicious.

If time proves the suspicion unfounded, then so be it. Speculation is harmless at this point and seems to be more prudent than accepting this as an already-solved, uncomplicated crime.

As details unfold, I expect to see that all is not as cut and dried as is being presented. At the very least, it seems these parents did not put the welfare of their children ahead of their own partying and "playing" with others.

I happen to believe that they are swingers. You don't choose to believe it. You can claim no more legitimacy to your opinion than I can to mine. We simply see it differently.

LG, I see how their lifestyle could complicate the prosecution. If you remember the OJ trial, the victim Nicole was actually put on trial for her lifestyle. OJ's blood was all over the darn crime scene, but his attorneys had Columbian druglords killing Nicole because of her drug use and lifestyle (or the cops "framing" OJ for being black). Was it right? No. It was horrible because Nicole and her family were the victims. However, that's how things go, and it looks like DW has the money to hire a defense like that. We have already heard his attorney is a pit bull. With so much evidence against this guy already, one must conclude that is why he is pleading not guilty. The VDs are going to be put on trial, and if they have been lying about their relationship with this guy (and he can prove it), it is not going to be pretty.

I did not see it myself, but I have heard many references to Larry King inquiring about the rumors. If true, that was a golden opportunity to declare to the whole nation that the rumors were absolutely false and show righteous indignation at such cruelty.

It seems they had their chance and chose to take a pass. I find that more than odd.

SAN DIEGO , CA - For the second time in as many days Wednesday, investigators returned to the van Dam home and removed more potential evidence. The closet doors were taken from Danielle's room. Authorities hope to remove finger prints from the doors.

The photos below are of the Van Dam backyard and show the sliding glass door reported to have been found open the morning Danielle was reported missing. Detectives say this is likely to be the way a possible kidnapper may have entered the home.
