Just bought my book and got it signed from Pat three days ago. I read it cover to cover today. It's one of the most insightful books I've read on the problems facing America today. I had thought that Buchanan was quite out of his mind concerning imigration during the last campaign, but he makes an excellent argument for curbing immigration and deporting illegal aliens.

But his criticism of current immigration policy and handling illegal immigration is only a small part of the problem. His argument is that the West is on its death march or rather death bed and I think articulates the reasons why we are at a crisis and many of the causes of that crisis.

It is the best book I've read on politics since I read "The Character of Nations." Buchanan truly is a rare breed, clearly of man both of letters and understanding who understands our heritage, political, intellectual and spiritual.

Agree. Immigration is not the most important focus of the book but seems to get all the argument. He clearly doesn't think it is as important as the cultural and spiritual decline. Of course the Neocons would not agree with him there either yet they say little about those issues. I wonder why?

Regards.
