God Bless This Country that gives us the liberties we enjoy today and God Bless GDubya...
I have been around for awhile and I agree with the purposes and goals this here Lil piece of Heaven on the 'Net has strived for.
I wouldn't miss the foaming, lame and clueless posts that all too frequently pop in here.
It almost seems like there are those who seek to destroy this site by spewing forth their hatred and ignorance in the hopes the good folks will not want to come here anymore. I have seen it happen in too many political chat rooms. I don't want to see it happen here.
We must police ourselves and don't be afraid to report abusive posters.

Ditto on the Duplicate posts. Titles may vary from source to source.
Commie propaganda should be labeled for easy detection.
Please, we must continue to rag on the Klintoons incessantly, until none holds public office or they disappear into obscurity.

Is it true, the rumor I've heard that the software is "broken" and articles are being posted to "Breaking News" without the poster intending to do so? If so, I apologize to all those I've ragged lately about "Breaking News" sidebar violations.
That's really the ONLY thing that chaps my hide: Vanities (and inanities) that clutter up "Breaking" and push the "real" news out).
Oh, except I am sick and tired of the religion bashing. Any way we can make that a capital offense?

As long as the threads are not pulled and some consequences felt, they will continue. Asking these people to repect Jim's wishes just doesn't work. You know that. Oh, man, is THAT the truth. Earlier there was the thread, a "Vanity" that was not identified as such (and which was also posted in "Breaking"--although that might have been the fault of FR's software) screaming about "Big Government Bush."
When I jumped all over the guy for breaking at least one major rule, he smugly told me "tough, I'll post what I think needs to be seen."

Yes, but it doesn't matter. Those who just LOVE to hear the sound of their own typing--and are equally sure you do, too--will post their stupid vanities in one of the other categories. "Miscellaneous" seems to be the favorite choice.

Are you using the newest search engine?
The one that says it is experimental.
I have found it to be pretty good.
The old one hardly finds anything!

Thanks for the note!

The new search engine I am referring to is the one accessed via the link at Post #6.

That is what I have been doing !
Many of the articles on the Power crisis here in California are not obviously connected with California so when I can, space allowing, I add "(California)" to the title.

Why would we want our IP's to be made available to the South African Communist Party? I don't know, why would we?

Yup and if he wants to post a thread asking prayers for his sick goldfish, he will.
If it will help with bandwidth, please refer all sick goldfish questions to me.
I actually know about these things.

I click on search...and then I post the title of an article verbatim. And it doesn't show. So then (because I don't know, search any possible link words) and if they don't show up...I post.
Today I had a thread pulled (not complaining about that, that's okay)...but had searched the title of the thread. It didn't show up on the search. Next thing the thread (with the EXACT same title) is brought up to the top of current topics.
I try not to post duplicates. In fact, as someone who lives half a world away the stuff I read in my dailies is not probably likely to be on FR (unless MANY Freepers surf Irish sites). But I still do a search beforehand.
It's really not fair to think that everyone posts indiscrimately out of vanity. I try my best.
I've learned a lot from FR. And as a journalist (albeit in a different country), I've found the logical thought process of many Conservative posters has not only consolidated views that I've held inherently, but have swayed me to buck the system over here a little.
Having that said too...I do like some of the vanities and fun threads. I enjoy the craic and banter. But I don't own this site, so must respect the decisions of those that do.

Good to have you here!

Good to have you here!I'll second that. Your profile page
loads but didn't display for me, tho.
Will try another time.

Yes, the rumor was true. The sidebars were broken, but are working again. We are able to move threads in and out of sidebars as before.
