You are being silly, with your picture of Donald Duck.

But you are going nuts over nothing.

Sorry an AG who doesn't want a big boob hanging over him in a photo is not the end of the Republic, but you go right ahead with your paranoid hysterics.

Ashcroft is the boob with hair.

Jealousy is really ugly when publicly shown.

Nothing. But why didn't he just MOVE his Photo-op platform instead of WASTING taxpayer money on draperies?!!

Maybe he can't. Would you rather he spend $100,000 for a new electical system to handle the media cameras and movement of the podium?

Bow down to the God called "Art". Another example of giving in to the left. These are just aluminum statues - but just because they are statues you (and the left) call it "Art". One man's "Art" is another man's junk. If these are so much "Art" in your mind, who sculpted them? What other important work has he done to merit his work to even be called "Art" and not just decoration. You do know there is a difference, don't you? If Ashcroft's predecessors had placed excrement covered "Art" of the virgin Mary in the DOJ, would you complain if Ashcroft removed it or covered it up? Why or why not? I mean, it is "Art" isn't it? Who are you to say it is or isn't?

I will direct you to someone who knows a little more about these artistic statues than either you or I: Click here.

It appears the sculptor in question also carved the busts (pardon that pun) of those famous men onto the side of Mount Rushmore. Do you also consider this to be tacky, or kitsch, or in any way equivilent to a feces-covered virgin Mary?

I admit I didn't do any research before declaring this 'art'. However, I had a hunch that anything adorning the outside of the Justice department building might be done by famous and talented men. It appears you, also, did no research on these statues. So, if anyone is bowing to a Leftist tenet, it is you who is bowing to willful ignorance -- a classic in their congeries of tactics.

That was a very, VERY stupid move on Ashcrofts part.

I'll agreee with that. He just should have let things the way they were. Now, he has made himself into a joke.

Ashcroft is just Reno in men's clothing.

Anyway I disagree with you about this being art. Art is in the eye of the beholder and I am sorry but that statue IMHO, is more appropriate for Hugh Hefner's garden.

Let us all pause for a moment, in thankful prayer, that Dane is not able to significantly alter anything in Washington or elsewhere to his desired state.

Here's the way to look at it:

Ashcroft essentially took the entire federal income tax payment of TWO hardworking middle-class families to order draperies, thus satisfying his own personal inclinations.

In other words, two families were deprived of a replacement car, appliances, clothes, tuition money, food or anything else you can imagine because John Ashcroft is a prude.

Thanks a lot, Big-Goverment Republicans!

Every time you hear about the government spending a million dollars, just picture it as the ENTIRE tax payment of 250 hardworking middle-class families. A billion spent is the ENTIRE tax payment of 250,000 hardworking families, on average.

Helps to put it in perspective, doesn't it? If We The People don't strangle the flow of money to D.C., those parasites will spend it all and keep whining for more.

Like I stated to CS, you should keep your fantasies to yourself.

Accurate; therefore the correct response is nothing. Don't act on existing art pieces in Washington. Nothing is so offensive that he should feel he needs to!

Agreed. This is quite frankly, an embarassment for the Adfministration, due to AG Ashcroft. Focus on the war, not on the clothing status of statues. Sigh...
