Could you please explain the difference to me? Other than the fact that Giddy used to sleep with that RINO Bob Dole, that is. If Bowles were to start going to his knees for Bob,there would be no real difference between the two. Certainly not in the votes they would cast.

This has to be one of the most insane statements I've ever read on this site. If the poster is even from this country, what turnip truck did he come in on?

Why does this bring to mind a similar instance where Clintoon had to return funds which also became a seed of controversy? To get caught with your hand in the crookie jar is not the same as never having it there in the first place...

Libby Dole's record on gun control speaks for itself. Anyone to the left of the Constitution is a left-winger in my book and I'd as soon as vote for this woman as for Christie Whitman or Rudy Guliani or McCain or any of those other Rinos. The liberals have a party - its the Democratic Party, and its exclusively theirs. They should leave the Republican PArty for GENUINE moderates and conservatives.

jackbill found the real killer donation list...the one that shows the top 50 overall donors....35 of whom gave more than ENRON. This deserves a thread of it's own. It's a graph that shows amounts, and who got it.

If the Senate is in GOP hands, I would take a Republican like Liddy Dole anyday over a Clinton flack like Bowels.

Why? So she can disappoint Republican backers like half the other Pubbies do in the Senate?

"Libby Dole's record on gun control speaks for itself."

For Dole to have a "record" on any issue, she needs a firm stance that doesn't change with the audiences' faces. When Dole goes on record representing her position on controversial issues, it's as slippery as mercury and changes with the date a lot like the weather. But I have got to hand it to her - she has a lot of die-hard Republicans (no pun intended, Bob) snowed in just because she wears a pink elephant.

In your heart, you know I'm right. I say "in your heart",because I know that as a good little Bush-Bot you no longer have a mind.

I agree in principle, but what can you say in cases like Giddy's,where she was hand-picked by the RNC to run for Helms Senate seat? Since she has the backing of the RNC and the NC GOP,no other candidate stands a chance against her in the primaries.

I happen to support our honorable President AND our troops overseas. After your shameful and disgraceful display the other day against one of our more high profile and decent freeper/soldiers, you should be ashamed of yourself. Maybe they have an extra cage down in Cuba for people of your America hating nature.

Really? I respectfully request you eat shit and die, although I have no doubt that you would thrive on that type of diet. You are what you eat.

An anti-establishment Republican won in New Jersey. Unfortuantely, due to a spoil-sport sore loser attitude amongst the ensconced left-wing liberal Republican estbalishment, personified by Donald T. "Donny" DiFrancesco, that candidate lost. Perhaps in North Carolina it CAn be different. HEY, suppose the Dems wised up and ran a conservative Democrat against Ms. Droll?? Maybe they would beat her.

Not a chance. This is NC we are talking about, and central NC is a hotbed of actual communists. They are going to see a alleged Rep woman running, and go into full-panic mode about losing a important base They are going to try their best to "out-left" Giddy, and since she is pretending to be a right-winger,they shouldn't have any problem. Regardless,I am going to vote for whoever runs against her.

Good for you. I would do the same after what Christie Whitman pulled in New Jersey. If Republicans don't provide us with a philosophical alternative, we shouldn't support them. It would be better though if you voted for a third party candidate like the conservative party candidate. You'd still be send a message to Ms. Dole and the RINOs.
