"What a loathsome philosophy."
Don't be so harsh on yourself; you were programmed by your masters to despise yourself.
I'm sure if you show sufficient talent at savaging strawmen, they'll give you a shot at some real flesh-and-blood victims.
Just hold your mouth right! ;^)

"Slavery is Freedom" could be the new LP motto.
To: Roscoe
"Ignorance is Strength" could be yours.
To: headsonpikes
Ignorance is the "strength" of Libertarianism, knowledge is its enemy.
To: Roscoe
Forget 'Libertarianism'; as you so often write, historically it has been a mere sect, however truthful might be its insights.
Instead, why not read Orwell with a chastened spirit; you might have an epiphany. ;^)
To: headsonpikes
The Libertarians spamming FreeRepublic provide ample amounts of NewSpeak and DoubleThink.
To: Roscoe
Considering your status as a doubleplusgood duckspeaker, I'd be well-advised to take your word for it, I suppose.
To: headsonpikes
Deliberate ignorance of history is a common characteristic of Big Brother and Libertarianism.
To: Roscoe
Deliberate ignorance of history is a common characteristic of Big Brother and Libertarianism. Deliberate misrepresentation of both Libertarianism, and Big Brother, is a common characteristic of Roscoe.

Libertarianism is built on the assumption that its facile rationalizations are sufficient to replace institutions and governmental systems, without knowledge or understanding of how those systems operate.
Like public roads. Remember?
To: Roscoe
Libertarianism is built on the assumption that its facile rationalizations are sufficient to replace institutions and governmental systems, without knowledge or understanding of how those systems operate. Yes of course... the old "it exists, so there must be some reason for it to continue" argument.
Stunning.

The old "reality and knowledge stand in the way of our ideology. Into the memory hole with it."
Deliberate ignorance of history is a common characteristic of Big Brother and Libertarianism.
To: Roscoe
And deliberate misrepresentation of both Libertarianism, and Big Brother, remains a common characteristic of Roscoe.
Life goes on.

Translation: Same Sh*t.... different day.
Anytime you think you're up to the challenge of a serious discussion of the issues in question, you can feel free to do so.
But so long as you continue in deliberate misrepresentation, sophistry, and childish subterfuge, you'll be regarded with all of the respect your behavior warrants.
Which is to say, without respect.

"We don't know how things work, we don't need to know how things work, we don't want to know how things work. We are the end of history!"
Pathetic.
To: Roscoe
Pathetic. The challenge stands Roscoe.
Any time you're willing to drop all the deception, sophistry, and childish sloganeering, and discuss the issues like an adult, I'll be more than willing to go toe-to-toe with you.
But I don't think that's very likely.

...I'll be more than willing to go toe-to-toe with you. Ha.

From looking through this thread, it seems there are a couple other myths about Libertarianism.
Number 1275: Republicans don't take them seriously and don't care about whatever they stand for.
Number 1276: Republicans are just like Libertarians.
To: Roscoe
Ha. Any time... Any place.
