You say that it's not about race...while Pat Buchanan fulminates about the picayune details of racial origins and intermarriage. And I'm supposed to take your statement seriously?
yours makes too much sense!
some of these people enjoy whipping themselves and others up into a needless frenzy.
i live in socal and it amazes me how fast the kids of immigrants americanize. they speak both languages. and, they ain't goin' home.
they are americans. just like before in american history. earlier arrivals looked down upon later arrivals.
but by the 1960s we had melted into one culture. and i'm optimistic about the future.
Of course you're not going to discuss anything. Because you can't.
Buchanan's concerned about the disappearance of pasty-faced white guys like himself, who live in gated communities in Virginia, drive Mercedes-Benz and attend cocktail parties inside the Beltway.
The "facts" are not the facts as you've stated them. Backup has stumbled into the truth, the truth that Buchanan and his brigadiers dont' want to admit:
One the one hand, racists like Pat argue Hispanics don't "assimilate."
And then when they do (primarily by marrying anglos), racists like Pat print books claiming the white race is disappearing.
That's a horrible thought if they are like you. Thank goodness I had six. Gotcha out numbered buddy.:)

Most Americans have long since abandoned the notion that it's important that someone of Nordic descent marry someone with a similar genealogical background. Most whites are already "mutts" with ancestors from various parts of Europe.
The interaction of the various races will invariably lead to intermarriage. This has always happened throughout history, but it's only going to increase. I don't know how long it will take, but I think it's inevitable that the races will eventually disappear. Certainly it will be within 1,000 years, and perhaps half of that.
Does that mean nations will disappear? Of course not. Nor will cultures or religion. There are many things that are peculiar to the people who live in the region and most of them have absolutely nothing to do with race.
Be careful. Pat lives in a gated community too. Drives a Mercedes-Benz.
"This third and last principle is that the people on this world, in America, Africa or China, are different both in body and soul. They are not equal, as yesterday's lie had it. People are different. They not only speak different languages and look different: no, they are different in the depths of their hearts and natures, and in their abilities for good and evil."
--Dr. Walter Gross, head of the Nazi Party's Office of Racial Policy, 13 October 1934.
This is twice you stated this in the same thread. You're wrong and you're wrong. He does NOT live in a gated community and he drives a SUV. Jeesh, are you so jealous of the man?
Who would be jealous of a man with no kids?
Contrary to what SentryoverAmerica has said, Buchanan is not a "common man." He lives on the same street as Colin Powell.
Mexicans are not assimilating nor can we afford to assimilate all of south america directly into the US.
And then when they do (primarily by marrying anglos), racists like Pat print books claiming the white race is disappearing.
When they do? Mexicans do not primarily marry anglos. Notice how we are talking about a group of people that are not interested in America or becoming a part of America. They are citizens of Mexico.
What a load of crap.
The load of crap you are referring to is literally your straw man arguments attributed to Buchanan. Therefore you can only be referring to yourself.
ILLEGAL immigration is the issue. It is against the laws of this country. MOST Americans want something done about it. Does that make most Americans racist? Or does a complete disregard for the will of the people and the laws of the land make self-righteous asses the heroes of the country?
What R yours?
The biggest foul up since 'Social Security', 'The Federal Reserve', and 'The Monolithic TRUSTS'.
