This article reads like an info-mercial. They must need some cash bad.
Also, this scheme (floating city) looks like it's been on the drawing board since the late fifties (of the last century). What will they call the school on board? Water World Community College?

A normally deadly 100-foot wave will move the ship about one inch, according to [Freedom Ship marketing vice-president] Gooch. The ship's 1.7 million square feet will displace 2.75 million tons of water. In comparison, the largest ship currently floating, an oil tanker, displaces about 500,000 tons of water. I'm no marine engineer, but this doesn't ring true. So, its displacement is about 5 times an oil tanker (and this doesn't seem so HUGE, after all the hype), and it would move "about one inch" from a "deadly 100-foot wave." I'm not buying it.

Hopefully that monstrosity will be nuclear powered. Otherwise, it will burn a horrendous amount of fuel.

Tell me, is this Calypso Louie's mother ship or what!

A normally deadly 100-foot wave will move the ship about one inch If the monster wave hits wrong, this barge will break in two and go to the bottom immediately.
