Defined: anyone who is winning an argument, on the facts, with a liberal.

Well then, your definition of 'liberal' must be anyone with whom a Buchananite loses an argument.

No, I said that a "racist" (in modern PC terms) is one who is winning an argument, on the facts, with a liberal.
In my example, the liberal loses the argument and hits the "racist" button on the way down. That was clearly stated.

You stated that a Buchananite loses an argument to a liberal, and cited my previous statement as to the relation between a liberal and a racist.

We can conclude, that you do not believe that Buchananites are racist.

I never mentioned Buchananites, BTW. However, if you are interested in my definition of liberal...

Defined: a social malcontent who can not find success and must tear down the society which does not validate his experience.

or

Someone who is incapable of properly engaging in an argument using commonly accepted standards of logic.

Stephanopolous DID write a book. And his ABC job carries more weight than Buchanan's 'syndication.' I guess, George is MORE qualified than your man to lead the free world.

Now you're nitpicking, Stephy didn't run for president for good reason. Pat's his own man, his intellect is not matched by the Democratic Party or the Republican Party combined. Stephy is a mouthpiece for the neocons, he has no ideals, he's a male Eleanor Cliff, and gets his spin from the same place. Both sad to say from my hometown.

Wonderwhy you didn't throw in Brokaw, Jennings, Rather or Larry King I'm sure they must have writted a book along the way. They are actors for neocons and control prime time mouthing garbage. What Pat says is the truth as he sees it and as such is profound, drawing these humongous treads.

Pat Buchanan, Alan Keyes, Gene Taylor, and many of the most vocal "Christian Right" are NOT Protestant

These days or back in 1965?

Bump your #474. A lot of folks don't seem to understand the consequences of their own ideas.

No generation can be accountable for acts that occur before or after their own day. What bothers me is the seeming lack of historical conciousness which the elites of America display today, or have displayed for generations, really.

The pervading 'progressive' orthodoxy is essentially a-historical, claiming as it does that mankind can stop the impulse of history, by, say, creating the U.N. ;^)

That this is fatuous nonsense goes without saying on a conservative web-site, but the FACT that no Establishment voices have been uttering the straight goods on these and many other pressing matters FOR YEARS legitimizes Buchanan's platform, good and bad.

And that is not good. :*(

No. I don't see how you got that from my post. I don't think that requiring immigrants to learn English after they get here is in any way suggesting that Cubans (or any other nationality) be forcibly sent "back where they came from." The Italians, Germans, Japanese, Mexicans, Chinese, Nigerians all used to learn English when they came here. All these peoples have become a contributing part of mainstream America. I don't see why we shouldn't expect the same from current immigrants.

Do they want to come here? England, Germany, and Sweden all have gone socialist last time I checked. Protestant religious observance in England is around %10, BTW.

And compound this by having millions of Americans out of work is a receipe for disaster.

Some of Buchanan's most vicious slanderers may one day realize their error, but it will probably be too late to correct the damage without a great deal of pain all the way around. Too late already, I fear.

Of all Foreign Born? I assume you're including Illegal and Legal Aliens, Naturalized Citizens and parents/Grandparents of many US Born citizens. How can something like that be done?

I just bought this book and Bobos in Paradise. They seem like very good reads.

Any reason why the moms and pops of the modern world (not 3rd world) are opting not to have babies or to kill them???

Because babies are expensive and provide little economic benefit?

Including the Canadians? And the British? The Irish? Or just the brown-skinned ones? Why stop there - how many generations back are we talking here? I guess we'll stop with the generation in which Pat's folks came to these shores.

I am not, nor have I ever supported Pat for public office. And your sniffing dismissal of Pats syndicated column, which, by the way, was syndicated in over 400 newspapers, and his Crossfire gig, (of which he was the founder of, as well as executive producer and from it earned millions a year), is purile.

Much of that "open" space happends to be farmland. You know, the heartland that feeds this nation as well as a good part of the rest of this world. Sure, lets develop every square mile of America so we can run all the animals off their ranges and put them into extinction while we import our food from other nations.

Farmland, as my retired farmer father-in-law pointed out to me, is already owned by someone. Some of that "open space" has no access to water--and I don't mean that the developers haven't come in with a waterpipe off the main. I mean that the land is arid, with no water table.

But remember that these are people who consider the middle of the US "flyover country," without ever visiting here. Think of it as being called "the provinces," and being treated similarly.

Buchanan fails to realize is that many BLACK americans are against illegal immigration even more so than white Americans. I can't tell you how many blacks I've seen complain about illegal immigrats gettting special "benefits" that working-class black CITIZENS do not, REGUARDLESS of whether those illegals are Hispanic, Arab, Asian, or white.

Thats because "blacks" do not want competition at the "freebie trough". The comming minority civil war should be interesting. Pat may be wrong. They may end up eliminating themselves in substantial portions from the U.S.

Footnote: The vast majority of church-attending "Catholics" who say they agree with the moral teachings of the Church, when polled, vote Republican and pro-life exclusively. Every "Catholic" I know said they voted against Gore last time.
