When questioned for what's the current figure for Russian aid is, you posted an irrelevant excerpt. Now whether your intention was to help me, like you say now, or to imply that it runs in the billions of dollars, as your exceprt may suggest, I don't know. I take your replies for their face values, what appears on the surface. Expand of you think your replies can be misinterpreted.

So here is a point, and I am serious. You call yourself an America Firster, and you feign righteous anger over your tax dollars being used for aid to Israel, which Israel more than repays, yet I see you excusing our tax dollars going to Russia, much of which has gone for purposes other than which it was intended, or disappeared completely.

Excuse me, I wasn't excusing it, I was saying it was non-essential to Russia, in the context of discussion which state was unviable and depended on foreign aid, both monetary and political, to survive. As for my position on Russia aid, you can find posts of mine, where I decried it.

As for Israel "repaying it", I don't think so. Israel benefits from both monetary and political backing.

Been away for awhile. Israelis would of course reject that. Beyond that, it is not practical, not now. There has been too much water under the bridge, and in most places, Islam is not conducive to that paradigm, particularly Arab Islam. It is a pipe dream, and would lead to destruction and war, maybe with nukes.

Israel is far less of a Sparta than it once was. It is less dependent on US aid, except for some transfer of high tech military technology and equipment. That paradigm is out of date I think.

Justin, let me first say that I appreciate your essays posted here on FR. It is unfortunate that many of these issues cannot be debated without a flood of name calling.

However, without military aid to Israel I have little doubts that it would tend to destabilize the area (IMHO). Since Israel has nuclear weapons the outcome could be a global disaster. Given these possibilities how do you justify the elimination of aid?
